Who says you can’t go home again?

Today the European Poker Tour announced its Season 9 stop in London will return the tournament to the Grosvenor Victoria Casino. EPT London began at the Vic in Season 1 and remained there for many years before moving down the road to a nearby hotel. Now, the London main event will return to the Vic once again.

Season 3 winner and Team PokerStars Pro Victoria Coren said, “I am very excited that EPT London is returning to the Vic where it began. I think the atmosphere there will be fantastic. It’s where I won my own EPT title, so I hope it’ll be lucky for me.”

The announcement came at the same time as the full EPT London schedule announcement. When you look at that you’ll see the EPT has now partnered with the UK & Ireland Poker Tour’s main event. In all the festival will host 37 events during the eleven days of action March 5 -16.

Now, if you have been to the Vic and you have been to a recent EPT, you might be asking yourself, “How in the world is the EPT going to fit that many people and that many events in the Vic?”

Answer: It’s not.

See, as you might have heard, PokerStars is on the cusp of launching its first live poker room at the Hippodrome Casino. PokerStars LIVE at the Hippodrome will host many of the side events during this year’s EPT London festival. Cash games will be available at both venues.

Now that London is a springtime event, it will have been a long 17 months since Benny Spindler won the £750,000 first prize at the Season 8 main event. The Season 9 festival looks as if it will be worth the wait. The festival will kick-off with the £770 UKIPT Grand Final main event, along with a host of side events including a £2,150 High Roller and nightly turbos starting at £110.

Once the UKIPT Grand Final nears its end, the European Poker Tour will take over with its £5,250 main event. Side event highlights will include the £330 Spring Fling turbo with a guaranteed prize pool of £25,000, the £10,300 EPT High Roller, a £550 No Limit Deepstack event, the £550 PokerStars Women event, and the ever-popular £2,100 No Limit turbo.
