Ihar Soika has secured the €5k Turbo 6-Handed title for €97,400 after a short heads-up battle against Benjamin Pollak. Soika, who previously won the EPT11 Barcelona High Roller for €747,200, started the heads-up battle with over 70% of the chips in play after knocking out Zhapar Sultanov in 3rd place with 77 against A3.

With the blinds rapidly rising and the Frenchman stuck with just 10 big blinds, Pollak finally called all in with A4 only to find himself dominated by Soika’s AJ. The board ran out 310KK8 and Soika celebrated with a couple of his friends. Pollak picked up €69,200 for second while other notables in the money included Stephen Chidwick (5th – €27,600), Shannon Shorr (6th – €21,600), Oleksii Khoroshenin (7th – €17,000), Salman Behbehani (8th – €13,300) and Connor Drinan (10th – €8,825).

In the €2k Turbo 6-Handed, there are just 36 players remaining of the initial 141 including Kevin MacPhee, Dan Smith, Andrew Chen, Frederik Jensen, Anton Wigg, Max Silver, Bryn Kenney and Ami Barer. This event isn’t expected to finish until after 10pm tonight. There are 20 places being paid in this event with 20th receiving €3,550 and the winner will take home €65,650.

In the other events, the €200 Malta Megastack is down to just three players, there are 14 left in the €300 Turbo edition of the EPT and 18 left in the €100 HyperTurbo. Check back in later as the final four side events bring down the curtain on the EPT Malta Festival.
