Unfortunately for Khan, his day and tournament are now over. Dag Palovic, the Slovak player who made the final table here last year, helped us with the reporting, relating the tale of a three-bet shove from Khan with A-Q, running into A-K. Khan, as ever, took it with good grace, left the tournament floor and no doubt will find some high-stakes action online between now and the festival of poker occurring in Monte Carlo next week.
Or he might fancy taking another lower-level shot, especially after winning a $55 buy-in SCOOP event last week. It was event 14 of the best spring poker festival going, and Khan took the biggest share from the field of more than 1,500. That earned him more than $50,000, which is a fine investment.
We look forward to catching up with Khan again in Monte Carlo.
