Good afternoon all, and welcome back to Snowfest, where the big news is that none (repeat: none) of the PokerStars Blog reporting team has yet broken a limb, nor so much as even slipped and fallen onto their jacksie. You’d have got long odds on that being the case at the beginning of the week.

Part of the reason is professional restraint of course but also the streets and sidewalks of Himmerglen are not as perilous as we might have feared. They are bathed in sun this morning, genuinely warm sun, and the dazzle through the press-room window is blinding. This really is a terrific spot.

All twelve of our limbs, as well as the four belonging to our photographer Neil Stoddart, will today trudge merrily through the tournament room once more as we bring you the best coverage of day 1B’s action. Following the established traditions, there will be more players today than the 270 hardy fellows who showed up yesterday, keeping all of us busy for the next nine hours.

The full prize pool will be known somewhere close to the day’s midpoint, and by then we’ll also know the precise identities of everyone joining the party. Early indications are that we’ll be joined, at least, by the likes of Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Dario Minieri, Boris Becker, Kevin MacPhee, Luca Pagano, Lex Veldhuis, Sorel Mizzi, Salvatore Bonavena and many many more. An early list of expected participants is over on the chip count page, which will also be the place to follow their progress throughout the day.

We’re due to begin at 2pm local time. Before that, take a look at how they finished yesterday, how they got there, and why not see how they’re getting on in the deep stages of day 1C at the PAGCOR Chairman’s Cup in Manila. They need your support.
