4.46: Final table set
The elimination of Erik van den Berg in 9th place means we have our final table of eight set for tomorrow. The Dutchman was the shortest stack at the table and had just been through the blinds without the opportunity to get his stack in but when the action folded to him on the button, in they went. Toby Lewis was in the next seat and peeled a few chips off his mountain to call.
Van Den Berg: Q♠6♥
The board ran 8♣J♦3♠4♣5♠. Lewis’ king-high good enough to take the pot. — MC
4.35pm Early sparring
Two hands in and the same two players have been at each other’s throats (so to speak). On the first hand Sam Trickett raised under the gun to 40,000. It was folded around to Sergio Coutinho in the big blind who made it 120,000, forcing a fold from the Brit.
Next hand, and with the blinds having gone up to 12,000-24,000, it was folded around to Coutinho in the small blind who called. Trickett in the big blind raised to 60,000 and the man from Portugal called. Both checked the A♦10♥4♠ flop, but on the Q♥ turn Coutinho made it 50,000 then folded when Trickett fired out 140,000. — SY

Cards are in the air and it’s looking like a final table that will dominated by Brits as the top three stacks are all English (Trickett, Lewis and Sheringham). In fact, Trickett and Lewis have over half the chips in play between them. — RD
