We’re witnessing at a natural phenomenon never before seen on the European Poker Tour. And it’s coming from the Jack Salter rail.

There’s no question that his friends, who have greatly enjoyed the copious, if pricey hospitality of the bar at Le Sporting, are well oiled and well versed, singing the chorus of “Postman Pat”, a popular British childrens’ series, with the lyric “Postman Jack”.

The heads up battle continues

They’re quite rightly having a ball, and Salter has ridden that wave on enthusiasm every inch of the way.

But something curious is happening. Several hours ago one Salter railbird was hanging over the hoardings, out of sorts, trying to get his bearings, capable only of hanging on tightly to his drink. Now though, that same man is chatting freely and walking around the stage.

And so for the first time we have seen at least one man turn full circle: from sober, to drunk, to hungover, to sober again, all before a final table has been completed.
When this final table finishes, if it finishes — for we’re now no longer certain that it ever will — the breakfast buffets of Monaco will not know what has hit them.

All the hand-by-hand action, including chip counts, will be in the panel at the top of the main event page. We will have feature pieces below that.
