When it comes to these many side events at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final festival, there’s such a wide variety of games on offer with buy-ins both small and big, many are taking advantage of being always able to jump right into another tournament.

Speaking of jumping in, we reported Christian Berg’s win a couple of days ago in that “Second Best Hold’em” event, the tournament in which to win pots players had to make second best hands. After a night of doing his best to be second best, Berg made sure to be the very best when it came to the winner photos.

We reported a couple of the Wednesday winners for you yesterday to go along with that end-of-day look at Day 1 of the €25K Super High Roller. Getting us up to speed before today’s massive day — with twelve events on the schedule — here’s news from five other side events from last night, four of which played down to winners.

********One from yesterday that has yet to conclude is Event #63, the €1,000 PLO Single Re-Entry. With 87 total entries, Event #63 features a €84,390 total prize pool with €23,200 due the winner.

The top 11 make the money, and they stopped last night right on the bubble with 12 left and Italy’s Felice Piccaluga chip leader with 227,700. Bogdan Capitan (226,900) is Piccaluga’s nearest challenger, with Konstantinos Stratopoulos (134,400) and Jerome Zerbib (103,000) next in line.

Meanwhile lurking below is 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event runner-up Felix Stephensen in 10th position with 39,300. The Norwegian hopes to spin that stack up to add a second EPT11 Grand Final trophy to his collection after having won one of the €100 NL Flipout Events last week (Event #23). Play resumes at 12 noon.

********Over in Event #60, a €1,000 NL Deepstack, Russia’s Alexey Pak grabbed the win and €30,750 first prize after topping a 126-entry field. Polish pop star Wojciech “Lozo” Lozowski just missed the final table in this one, taking 10th. Here’s how the 17 cashers divided up the €122,220 prize pool:

Jason Pritchard********Meanwhile joining George Rankin in the two-trophy club last night was Hossein Ensan of Germany who for the second night in a row took away some silver. Ensan won Event #65, a €300 NL Turbo that drew 93 entries and paid the top 13. A six-way deal was made at the final table of that one with all six players agreeing to split the remaining prize money evenly, then Ensan went on to win.

Hossein Ensan********Finally the last to finish was Event #66, a €500+€500 NL Hyperturbo Bounty event which drew 122 with the top 17 finishers originally due to split the regular half of the prize pool, but a bubble deal allowed 18 players to get paid.

Lasse Frost of Denmark — who a couple of days before we were glad to see returning safe and sound from an unexpected visit to l’hôpital to cash in the Main Event — was the winner, beating out a tough field in which Eric Sfez, Nicolau Villa-Lobos, Roger Hairabedian, Jason Cahill, and Jennifer Shahade were among the cashers.
