EPT11 Grand Final: The lowest High Roller set to begin

May 06, 2015

At EPT11 Malta the High Roller carrying the price tag of €25,000 was deemed the ‘Special Added’ High Roller. Here at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final the same event is merely the third High Roller of the week and the cheapest at that. It follows the €100,000 Super High Roller, won by Erik Seidel and the One-day €50K won by Mustapha Kanit.

25k is as low as I go bro
We say cheapest but the price tag will keep out the riff-raff and a cursory look at the list of players already registered confirms as much. Team PokerStars Pros Vanessa Selbst and George Danzer are in as is last year’s Main Event champion Antonio Buonanno, Bryn Kenney (who’s already won a side event this week) will be playing, as will Fedor Holz, Scott Seiver – who could get the High Roller trifecta having cashed in the €100,000 and €50,000 versions already – and Team Pro Online’s Ike Haxton was just eliminated from the Main Event and said: “25K time,” we’ll take that to mean he’s playing.

Last year this event had 159 unique entries, 55 of whom reentered, and Philipp Gruissem beat Scott Seiver heads-up to win €993,963. Gruissem’s in form having won a €5,000 side-event last night and we’d expect the High Roller specialist to show up today to defend his title. The players will play ten one hour levels today and registration is open until the start of Day 2.
