We’re halfway through the second of three scheduled days in the €25,000 Special Added High Roller and earlier than expected we’re very close to the bubble.
As level 16 started – blinds 3,000/6,000 ante 1,000 just 15 players remained, 13 of whom will make the money. The average stack is just over 293,000 and this is how the remaining players stacked up as the level got under way.

It could be a long bubble period then as only Dan Smith and Daniel Dvoress and in what would traditionally be termed the ‘danger zone’ as they’re the only two with sub 20 big blind stacks. Sam Greenwood’s ascent to the top of the chip stacks happened when he eliminated Stephen Chidwick in a classic race. The Brit’s ace-king failing to spike against the Canadian’s pocket nines. Chidwick finished 17th, taking us down to the final two tables and Team Pro Online’s Issac Haxton went the same way as Chidwick a short time later. Haxton’s big slick failing to connect on a 10♠ 9♦ 6♥ 5♣ Q♦ board against Jeff Rossiter’s pocket jacks.
The day started with 40 players and one new entry (Vladimir Dobrovolskii) and one re-entry (Mikita Badziakouski) swelled the ranks of Day 2 players to 42 and total runners to 88. Both exited during the opening level of the day and they join a list of luminaries on the rail that’s more than a match for those players left in. Those left pot less on Day 2 include: Ole Schemion, Steve O’Dwyer, Pratyush Buddiga, Tobias Reinkemeier, Mike Watson and Fabian Quoss.
Despite the rapid decrease in numbers play will still come to a halt when the final table of eight is set and play to a conclusion tomorrow. For now, its tense and cagey as the bubble is but one spot away.
