Kenneth Smaron – Day 1 chip leader
Will it or won’t it break last year’s record total? That was the question that we were waiting to answer today in Prague. Yesterday 247 players entered the €10,000 High Roller and 56 of them busted and then re-entered. Doing the math, that took the total number of entries to 303 just six less than last year’s record of 309 entries.

But! But! Late entry was open until play started at 12.30 CET today and surely there were at least seven people out there with €10,000 out there. There were. In fact 12 players bought in this morning taking the total number of runners to 315 (252 unique entries and 63 re-entries). The players who entered for the first time today were: Konstantin Maslak, Ramin Hajiyev, Parker Talbot, Rufat Mahmudov and Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier. Whilst Rainer Kempe, Stephen Chidwick, Adnan Chamaa, Jason Mercier, Ami Barer, Yingui Li and Vlad Darie all fired their second bullet.

They all get a fresh stack of 50,000 which puts them someway behind the overnight leader Kenneth Smaron. The American bagged up 274,700 to grab the lead late in the day from Kacper Pyzara who finished on 267,000. Both Smaron and Pyzara cashed the Main Event here in Prague finishing 91st and 59th respectively.

Other players who more than quadrupled their stack during the ten levels on Day 1 include: Jeffrey Rossiter (252,400), Anton Wigg (236,000), Daniel Cates (211,400) and Rocco Palumbo (206,600).

G’day for Rossiter
In all 162 players from the 313 strong field started Day 2 and the plan today is to play ten 60 minute levels or to a final table of eight, whichever comes first. Blinds start at 1,000/2,000 ante 300.
