EPT8 Monaco: Into Day 2 at Le Sporting

April 27, 2012

We’re into Day 2 of the PokerStars Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final. The starting field of 665 is down to 394, with a further day’s play likely to cut that by more than half; new railbirds no longer in the running for the first prize of €1,500,000.

Leading them into the day is Nick Yunis, from Chile, who bagged up 191,700 at the close last night, some way ahead of Day 1A leader Martin Kabrhel on 167,800. Yunis has been one of the players of the season (he’s currently fourth on the Player of the Year leader board) and should continue to flourish today.

Le Salle des Etoiles

Returning is an all-star field of poker’s glitterati.

David Sands is in the combined top ten, as is John Eames from the UK. Tristan Clemencon and Ilan Boujenah are not far behind, with the likes of Freddy Deeb, Tom Marchese, Nacho Barbero, Vladimir Geshkenbein, Steve O’Dwyer, Scott Seiver, Mickey Petersen, Dario Minieri, Pius Heinz, Martin Finger, Ana Marquez and well, a whole lot of others you can find on the official chip count page.

Play is due to start at 12 noon. Live coverage and features can be found on the PokerStars Blog throughout the day.
