The PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final is being streamed live as live on a one hour delay. If there are off-the-table moments we’ll certainly bring them to you but today the PokerStars Blog will be going retrospective. It’s the end of the season, the eighth of European Poker Tour history, and we think that deserves a little fanfare, or a tinny rendition of the the ‘Last Post’ at the very least.

Back in August last year Ronny Kaiser took down the first event of the season in Tallinn, Estonia. A field of 282 players gave Kaiser a €275,000 pay packet and finally crowned a player who has been knocking on the door for some time. Today a thirteenth player will win an EPT title and the largest purse of the year, a mammoth €1,500,000 (assuming that no deal is made).
