The man in the green hoodie on the feature table right now is Christopher Frank. Not much was known of Frank prior to this week, but his gaunt teenage look was accurate – he’s 18. Chouity has his double winner story, Jorgensen his triple crown. Should Frank triumph he’ll become the second youngest EPT winner in history.
That title is currently help by Mike McDonald who, at 18 years, 4 months and 22 days old won the EPT Dortmund title in Season 4. Alas the veteran Frank is too late for that, his birthday being in the summer of last year. Still, it’s some achievement.
Frank is what you would call a fast learner. From Hannover, Germany, he’s is playing his second EPT, after entering the PCA main event in January and busting five places off the money. If he looks upset about that he’s not. It’s just how teenagers look. For Master Frank, locking his bedroom door and sullenly telling his parents that they don’t understand him and playing on his computer, has been a worth thousands to him so far.

Not that the typical revolt against parents is Frank’s thing. He may wear the trademark hoodie and look like he’s been awake for three days, but when we spoke to him yesterday he explained how he has the complete support of his parents who have watched his poker pursuits prove promising so far.
Frank started in 2012 with a third place in Baden, before a trip to the Bahamas scored his first tournament win, a $2,000 turbo side event worth $55,720. Prior to the main event in London he cashes in two side events, finishing tenth in each picking up another ten grand.
As for the main event, Frank put it in typically frank teenage poker talk.
“It’s a sick experience,” he said. “So deep and it takes such a long time. It’s nice to have chips but its super hard work.”
But it seems to be good hard work. Not like geography assignments or algebra tests. Frank seems to be enjoying this. Those with experience of teenagers will recognise that from his brooding face.
