Home / Uncategorized / EPT9 London High Roller Day 2: Alekberovas leads as they approach the money

The High Roller will play on to a final table, at which point they’ll be asked whether they want to play on. High Rollers do like to play, and endurance is an important part of their game.

As they push on after the dinner break, Anaras Alekberovas, an EPT Barcelona finalist, leads with 585,000 chips, ahead of Albert Daher with 483,000. High Roller specialist Philipp Gruissem is, naturally, among the leaders with 420,000.

All this has taken place in the shadows of the main event feature table, the distinction between main and high roller being the colour of the chips and the banter between players which, in high rollers is akin to a home game.

So far the field has been whittled down to 30 of the original 137. Lost along the way today include Jason Mercier and Daniel Negreanu who were out first today. They were followed by Martin Finger, Anton Wigg, Viktor Blom, Ville Wahlbeck, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Eugene Katchalov, Mike McDonald and Roberto Romanello.

They miss out on the money, with £1,342,600 in the prize pool. The top 14 will be paid with a min cash worth £24,170 through to a first prize expected tomorrow of £436,330.
