Home / Uncategorized / EPT9 Monaco: Jesper Onrust wins trophy two

Jesper Onrust is having a great time here in Monaco: he’s won two trophies, the second of which was this boutique €220 7 Card Stud high-low turbo, and he’s currently grinding away in another €2k event with Gaelle Baumann on his direct left.

The 28-year-old store owner from Amsterdam qualified for the EPT Monaco Main Event, his first EPT and just his third or fourth live tournament ever, and then backed that up by qualifying for the Monaco Cup. Nice.

“I expected to only play the Main Event but I played the side events and they went well. Poker is just a hobby for me. The experience is more important than the winning for me. Every day is super,” said Onrust, who said he’s now keen to play more next season.

Which of stops? “Most of the sunny places, of course,” he said with a smile.

It looks like the sun’s already shining on the Dutchman.
