This week on Poker in the Ears, James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton conclude their mini-series of episodes celebrating 20 years of PokerStars by talking to one of the most successful players of all time.
Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel joins the guys to make his first ever appearance on a poker podcast!
Seidel covers a number of topics, including sharing his poker “origin story,” discussing the “boom” years, and explaining his dislike of playing hold’em on TV.
He also talks about his depiction in Rounders, his cameo appearance in Curb Your Enthusiasm, his role in Maria Konnikova’s poker career and book The Biggest Bluff, and how he stays competitive in an ever-evolving game.
Meanwhile, the boys draw a line under the various activities that have accompanied #TheBig20, including the Rewind series, the $5 million dollar guaranteed Finale, and The Big 20 Players Awards.
Finally, Chad McVean from Canada makes a return appearance, competing in Superfan vs. Stapes for the second time. It’s a very special edition of this contest themed around PokerStars history, and features a very special prize.
