Home / Uncategorized / Eureka5 Rozvadov: Blaha blasts his way to Day 1B chip lead

The Eureka5 Rozvadov Main Event may have had three starting flights but was dominated by Day 1B, by far the biggest of the three with 427 players. It actually set a single day record of for a Eureka event held here at the King’s Casino.

Roman Bláha was the man with the plan today, topping out the surviving 159 players by amassing 250,700 chips. He leads a top five of 200k-plus players:

Roman Bláha – 250,700
Steve Berger – 226,500
Georgios Tzimos – 220,000
Thomer Pidun – 211,500
Dennis Wilke – 202,600

Blaha bossed Day 1B to

Bláha started out at Natalie Hof’s table and seemed to dominate from the first time eyes were laid upon him. He never seemed to be in big pots, just in lots of small pots, and it was a strategy that seemed to work very well for him today. He left Hof’s table with around 85,000 when it broke and had an even better time at his new table, a table he stayed at to the end of the day.

The Hof left out in the cold

Hof almost made it to the end of play at her second table but a cold deck beat in the last level of the day saw her storm off. She came back a short while later with a smile upon her face but decided against jumping into Day 1C. Her last hand saw her get her chips in with ace-king and find a customer in the shape of Vu Hong Tung with queens. All she had to do was win a race but a queen flopped and that was that.

Hof’s boyfriend Pius Heinz has decided to play Day 1C after a Day 1B that never got going for him. The former WSOP champion’s flight was ended after ace-jack lost to ace-five and pocket jacks lost to pocket sevens.

Heinz hopped into Day 1C after busting

Hof’s PokerStars teammates faired just as badly as she did. Belgian twins Matthias and Christophe De Meulder failed to shine in front of their dad and both are trying again in the Day 1C field. They were joined by fellow Team PokerStars Pro Gerorge Danzer who semi-bluffed off his short with flush and straight draws but failed to hit. News of their Day 1C progress will be up on the blog at the end of their turbo flight.

Christophe De Meulder failed on Day 1B
