The WCOOP is over. I played a lot and overall felt like I played well, but the results weren’t always there. I did cash several times and then had some excitement at the end when I made Day 2 of the Main Event where I lasted to finish just inside the top 100. But the series ended with a feeling that I might’ve done more.

That’s poker, I guess, in that winning or losing doesn’t always correlate with good or bad play, at least in the short term.

My brother Chris was here in London with me for the whole WCOOP, which was nice. The long days and ups and downs were easier to handle with him here experiencing it all, too. We were working out regularly, going to the gym often all through the series, which helped a lot as well – keeping a healthy routine and getting through the grind.

Since then I’ve played UKIPT London and UKIPT Isle of Man. There I went to visit PokerStars headquarters. I’d never been there before. There were a lot of people who live and work there whom I’d never met. It was nice to see them and the offices and learn about how things are run.

The Isle of Man has a friendly and fun atmosphere. There isn’t too much going on there, but sometimes it’s nice to visit a more tranquil location to play. That’s kind of the case on the Belgian tour when we go to Spa, which is a small city without too much happening, but for me I love it there because it’s so relaxing and peaceful.

Unfortunately Chris and I couldn’t play EPT London this week. We’ll duties in Belgium to fulfill. We’re going to be covering the event from Brussels for the Belgian viewers on the EPTLive stream. It will be Chris, myself, and Gaëlle Garcia Diaz doing the commentary for four or five full days.

I always like doing the commentary and following an event in that way. And obviously the live stream is very well done and fun to watch. It’s a terrific way to watch poker — a perfect combination between serious poker coverage with a focus on strategy and entertainment. It’s liked by a lot of people, I know, so it’s great to be part of it.

I’m looking ahead, then, to playing some events and then talking about other people playing. It should be a fun month.
