Home / Uncategorized / EPT San Remo: Two down

Johnny Lodden and Sebastian Ruthenberg are both out. Lodden, making his debut as a fully paid-up member of Team PokerStars Pro, flopped top pair with his K-10 on a board showing both a king and a jack. Lodden bet all the way, but by the time the river had been dealt — another jack — he had been outdrawn by a single adversary’s A-J.

Ruthenberg fell victim to Juan Maceiras, with whom he has shared some remarkable previous duels. The ShootingStar Ruthenberg and the habitually PokerStars sponsored Maceiras have played against each other on numerous occasions, most notably in Prague late last year as each was closing in on the final table. The EPT television broadcast editor has already told us to look out for some spectacular hands between the two of them when the programme is screened.

They were at is again here, but Maceiras really had the goods. Ruthenberg reraised all in pre-flop, with K-9, but Maceiras snap-called with aces. There was no lucking out for “Luckbox” Ruthenberg here and he’s gone.
