The field has shrunk to just 100 players halfway through Level 14, the fourth one-hour level of the day, which means since 87 make the cash the money bubble is starting to loom ever closer.

As to be expected, there’s been significant chip movement over the first part of the afternoon as nearly 100 players have lost their stacks with their chips redistributed among those who remain.

Start-of-day leader Fernando Mazzeo has come back to the pack today, but still sits with an above-average 165,000. Meanwhile Pedro Padilha who began Day 2 not far behind Mazzeo at the top of the leaderboard has charged up further to build a big stack of 430,000.

Meanwhile Team PokerStars Pro David Williams has thrived so far today, pushing his stack up over 270,000. Most notable was a hand that saw him up against an all-in opponent holding K♦ K♥ while Williams had A♠ K♠ .

We saw his teammate Angel Guillen fall in a similar spot earlier, but things went better for Williams after the board came 7♦ J♣ 3♠ 10♠ J♠ to give him a winning flush.

All are chasing end-of-Day-1A leader Jefferson Melo at the moment, who has bulked up over 600,000 to enjoy a commanding lead as the bubble approaches.

It appears Level 15 or if not the next will be the one during which the visits to the cashier will start to occur here in Viña del Mar. Stay tuned.
