As we can’t be in London right now, mingling amongst the Lex Veldhuis community in person, we’re choosing to look on the bright side.

A) We don’t have a hangover. Waking up without one at a Lex Live event is like waking up with pocket aces in the big blind in a four-bet pot.

B) We get to tune in to the thing which brings the whole community together–Lex’s Twitch stream–and hang out in the chat.

And C) We have Lex Not Live running right now on PokerStars.

In case you missed the announcement, Lex Not Live is an online series of low to medium buy-in tournaments designed to bring together members of Lex’s passionate Twitch community.

It all kicked off yesterday (Tuesday 21 April) with Day 1, which featured the opening two events: #1 $22 PLO Lex Veldhuis Open, and #2 $11 6+.

The former came with a $5K guarantee, but when a whopping 717 entries turned out that was bolstered to $14,340. After around six hours of play, it was Germany’s “tenyooo” who took it down, banking $2,112 after a heads-up deal with Canada’s “yawnkiss” ($2,025).

Notables who cashed that event include PokerStars streamers James “OP-Poker James” Mackenzie (more on him later) and Tom “MajinBoob” Hayward, chat regulars “Pokervitne”, “BenMartin98”, and “Be My Girl”, Lex’s moderator “Croaks”, and even established pro “Girafganger7” was in the mix and in the money.

“girafganger7” finished 68th for $44

Then we had the second event of the series, an $11 6+ tournament which got 765 total entries to create a $7,497 prize pool. Lex himself went deep in this one (33rd – $37.76) but it Malta’s “gerbenNMGN” and the Netherlands’ “meow455” who did an even heads-up chop for $1,073 each.

As for James “OP-Poker James” Mackenzie, he shared his gratitude to Lex for running Lex Not Live as it encouraged him to play tournaments (he’s usually a cash game player):

Today’s action:

10am GMT: #3: $22 PKO Mini Big Bounty
12pm GMT: #4: $16.50 Heads-Up Progressive Total Knockout
