We are at the final day of the P1M Guarantee at the PokerStars Live Manila poker room at City of Dreams Manila. The combined day one flights saw a total of 361 entries – 168 for day 1a and 193 for day 1b – bringing the prize pool to a massive P1,540,748, surpassing the guarantee.
Today will see 56 players return to the felt for the final battle to the finish. Day 1b chip leader Korea’s Soo Jo Kim will be holding the torch with his massive stack of 348,600. Entering in second rank is UK’s Dave Colclough who bagged 227,700 chips at day 1a. Coming in third is Singaporean Louis Lee with 194,400 chips.
With quite a number of short stacks in the field, and 36 seeing a payout, the early hands should see some immediate shoves with some getting successful and some getting dusted. Clearly what everyone is aiming for today is to scoop up that first place cash prize of P332,648. In addition to the cash prizes, the top five players will also be awarded a seat to the Manila Megastack 5 worth P25,000 each.
We will be posting random updates of the action at the final day so stay tuned for that on our next blog.
At last night’s Flipout side event, ten rounds of crapshoot “who’s the luckiest” flipout action saw 10 players eventually win seats to the final table. When normal play resumed, it was Kah Seng Sim from Singapore who claimed the trophy.
KO Bounty (P200,000 Guarantee)
At 215pm, the last side event will be up and running, the KO Bounty with a P200,000 guarantee. Buy-in is P2,700 with blinds increasing every 20 minutes.
