Miguel Posadas loves playing online poker tournaments. The 30-year-old from Malaga, Spain, doesn’t generally play live tournaments, though. Maybe a few cash games here and there, but mostly he sticks to playing online. So when he qualified online for the CEP Main Event in nearby Marbella, he knew he was in for a mix of the familiar and unfamiliar.
Posadas was one of 40 online qualifiers to advance to Day 2 of the tournament. That entered him into a special drawing at the start of the second day where all 40 players were dealt into a single hand of Crazy Pineapple. The five winners combined to a final table, where they were dealt one more hand, and Posadas won it to earn himself a Platinum Pass.
“I’m super excited for having won the Pass,” he said, “as are my family and my girlfriend.”
He’ll have to venture a little further from home next August, but with millions of dollars on the line it will be well worth his time.
