Moneymaker's Path to the PSPC

Valdir Cordeiro dos Santos won his Platinum Pass in his adopted home city of London after besting a field of more than 800 in Moneymaker’s Path to PSPC event, held at Aspers Casino. He also earned £11,000 for winning the £140 buy-in event, which required him to overcome a huge heads-up deficit to prevail.

Cordeiro dos Santos, 43, is originally from Brazil, but spent a long time also living in Madrid, Spain, where he took up playing poker. He is predominantly a live player and has had a number of decent cashes on various tours, including a couple of high-ranking finishes on what was once the PokerStars UKIPT. The PSPC will still be the largest tournament of his career, but he told Chris Moneymaker he was confident of winning it.

Cordeiro dos Santos lives with his wife and four of his five children in London, and runs a construction company. His other child lives in Spain, and he’ll look forward to catching up with family when he heads to Barcelona in August. He said he also plans to play the National Championship as a warm-up to the PSPC
