PokerStars 10th Anniversary: $1M to be won with Ring Game Leaderboards

November 21, 2011

So, we’ve already announced a special $10 million guaranteed Sunday Million and a $1 million guaranteed Sunday Storm, something that pleased our legions of tournament players a great deal. But what about our cash game players? Why had PokerStars not revealed something juicy for them as part of its 10th Anniversary celebrations? Well, it turns out there is something very special for ring game fans, but PokerStars was simply teasing by leaving the announcement until this afternoon.

So here it is, and I think you’ll agree it’s been worth waiting for: Starting this Wednesday and running through to December 2, there will be exciting Ring Game Leaderboards with a total of $1 million to be given away to our loyal players. Let me repeat that. $1 million.

Here’s how it works:
There will be four leaderboards for Micro, Low, Medium and High stakes ring games. Each of those will run for one day before starting afresh. And get this, every day PokerStars will give away a total of $50,000 to the top performers ($5K shared between the top 100 in Micro, $10K for top 100 in Low, $15K for top 50 in Medium and $20K for top 20 in High).

To cap it all, a bumper $500,000 freeroll will run on Sunday, Dec 11 at 12:30 ET for all players who made the top 1,000 of any of the four leaderboards during the 10 days of the promotion. All of which adds up to $1 million, a 10th Anniversary present from us to you.

Just how do you reach the top of a leaderboard? Simple. The more hands you play, the more VPPs you earn. Your total VPPs earned in a given 24-hour Ring Game Leaderboard period will determine your ranking position for that day.

The four leaderboards’ stake levels follow the familiar High, Medium, Low and Micro tabs in the cash game lobby on the client, and you can play any cash game discipline you please – no limit, fixed, hold’em, PLO, the choice is yours.

So, get ready to bring your best cash game to the tables and win your share of the free $1 million.
