Another day of high rolling action is done.
We’re in the money and only 34 players are left. Ronny Kaiser finds himself in the lead with a whopping 2,696,000 while Luiz Rodriguez finished the day second in chips with 1,893,000. Boris Kolev rounds off the top three with 1,3700,000 and Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody made the top 10 with 1,080,000.
Cody almost bagged even more, but he ran ace-ing into aces to lose a huge pot earlier on in the day. Cody’s not a stranger to the high roller field either. Cody talked to us earlier today about playing high stakes cash games in Macau.
But Cody’s story of advancement is in the minority. A total of 251 players made it to Day 2 of the
€10,300 high roller. Most of them hit the rail before dinner, including Team PokerStars Pro Jeff Gross, who’s been vlogging his journey here in Barcelona.
Gross hit the rail early in the day, but when the dinner break approached, so did the money. We got down to 81 players at the dinner break and only 79 players would cash for a minimum of €18,400. We joined young Spanish pro Adrian Mateos through his bubble journey. Mateos reached the bubble as one of the short stacks, but was able to double up and glide his way into the money.
Mateos ended up finishing 61st and just 34 players survived to make it to Day 3. While we’ve lost the majority of our players in the tournament already, we’re distributing the majority of the prizepool tomorrow as we play down to a new high roller champion. The 557 entrants for this event created a €5.4 million prize pool and that means a €1,036,000 grand prize for our eventual champion.
