Home / Uncategorized / PokerStars Championship Barcelona: Registration’s closed in the €10K HR, but who’s in?

A jazz octet. Every player in a game of polo. The main cast of The Hateful Eight. That’s all this tournament was missing in order to match last year’s turnout.

In the end this massive €10,300 High Roller received 557 total entries, with 431 unique entries and 126 re-entries. That’s only down eight from last year, when Connor Drinan won for €849,000. But hey; it might just be because everyone in the field has got better, and there were less Day 1 bust-outs and therefore less re-entries!

Registration is now closed, and a whole bunch of players either re-entered or bought in for the first time today. One of those newly entered is Nick Petrangelo, who had a very deep run in the Main Event where he busted 19th for €53,200.

Bartlomiej Machon has also taken a seat. The young Polish player finished runner-up to Igor Kurganov in the €50K Super High Roller back on Monday night, good for a career best score of €864,694.

Luc Greenwood has also returned after busting late into the day yesterday. Greenwood, just one of the three poker playing Greenwood boys (and twin brother of Sam), finished fourth in the €25K Single Day High Roller on Thursday for €166,500. It was back at the PokerStars Championship Bahamas that he really had his breakthrough though; he took down the $25K High Roller there (that stop’s equivalent to this €10K) for $779,268.
