7.10pm: Dallying Around
Mark Dalimore had been floating around his starting stack all day and he’s still at 30,000 as the end of level 6 fast approaches. He won his last hand after check-raising his opponent on a A♦ 9♣ 7♥ flop. The call was made but a fold was found after Dallimore continued his aggression by leading out on the 10â™ turn. 30,000 is still a healthy stack to have though as when they return from break the big blind will only be 600.
6.50pm: Denis the menace for Green
PokerStars player Brian Green, from Costa Rica, raised it up pre-flop, then faced a substantial 21,825 all-in from Denis Noykin. While a third player folded after a bit of a dwell, Green called in a flash, but was not happy with what he saw:
Green: K♣ Kâ™
Noykin: A♥ Aâ™
“Put a king on the flop just one time,” begged Green. The dealer obliged when the K♦ came out first, but then agonisingly for Green the A♣ followed second, and the 7♦ third.
The turn and river changed nothing, and Noykin doubled up to 43,000, leaving Green still alive but down to 17,300. “I was never folding there,” he said.
6.30pm: First Team Pro eliminated
Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano raised it up to 1,100 from under the gun, was called by Alex Dovzhenko before another player re-raised to 2,000. Pagano called but Dovzhenko protested it wasn’t a legitimate raise. After a ruling confirmed the raise stood he made the call. The flop came 8♥ A♣ 4♦ and both players checked to the re-raiser who fired 2,000 into the middle. Pagano bumped this up to 5,000 but both opponents made the call to see the 6♥ turn. After a pause for thought Pagano moved all in for 14,675. Dovzhenko, who had been sitting quietly between his two aggressive foes made the call with 8♦ 8â™ for a set. The other player folded and Pagano’s turned two pair with A♥ 6♦ was in a lot of trouble. The river came a harmless 3♣ to confirm the exit of the popular Italian. Dovzheko meanwhile happily stacked up his 58,000 stack.
