After a marathon Day 2 yesterday at The Hippodrome Casino just 24 players remain in contention to win the PokerStars Festival London Main Event title. Those who’ve made it this far have locked up a minimum of £4,250, which while not a bad return on investment, will seem like chump change compared to the £112,720 on offer to the winner.

Leading the way when play restarts is Alexis Fleur. The 24-year-old cash game player, who’s orginially from Paris, won a huge pot late last night to vault into the lead. He’s ahead of Smit Trivedi and Lam Van Trinh, who’re the only other players with more than 2,000,000 to unbag.

Fleur was a late bloomer last night

Lurking in the chasing pack are the dangerous Ludovic Geilich and James Mitchell. The former bossed proceedings for much of the latter part of Day 2 and had they not played an extra level last night, it is he who would’ve returned as chip leader. He slipped back a touch during the final hour of play, but it still very much in this.

It was a tough final hour for Geilich
