If there is one axiom that has always held true about PokerStars, it is that the players come first. Today, the company highlighted that fact again with the formation of the European Players Council (EPC).

The EPC will meet for the first time next week in advance of the kickoff of the European Poker Tour’s ninth season.

“While focusing on the EPT, this council will also be utilized to discuss all of our live events, tours and endeavours throughout Europe, as well as structures, payouts, rules, and more,” said Neil Johnson, PokerStars’ Live Poker Specialist

PokerStars has picked some of the biggest names in poker to represent various parts of the world on the EPC.

Here are the inaugural members of the new council:

  • Arnaud Mattern – France
  • Luca Pagano – Italy
  • Alex Kravchenko – CIS
  • Eugene Katchalov – North America / Eastern Europe
  • Ana Marquez – Spain
  • Dominik Nitsche – Germany
  • Xuan Liu – North America
  • Martins Adeniya – UK
  • Martin Jacobson – Nordics / Scandinavia
  • “I am honoured to have been selected to be a member of the inaugural EPT Player’s Council,” said Xuan Liu..”The first meeting is at EPT Barcelona which was also my very first EPT stop on my first trip to Europe in 2010. It’s a beautiful city and I can’t wait to stay by the beach at the Hotel Arts!”
