PokerStars returned to New Jersey last month so it’s about time we had an official welcome party. We want you to share the moment with us. And because it’s a big deal we want to make it a memorable day for all involved.

So we’re teaming up with Jason Somerville for the Run It Up Resorts Rumble, a chance for fans to meet some of the most famous players in the game at the Resorts Casino Hotel on May 14, 2016.

It’ll be a day full of activity. There’s online poker to be played, some great giveaways, and a chance to meet some of the best poker players in the game.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

* The day kicks off with a breakfast “Meet & Greet” session featuring various members of Team PokerStars Pro.

* That’s followed by the PokerStars Run It Up Resorts Rumble featuring a $30 buy-in no-limit hold’em event on PokerStarsNJ.com, which is only for those on-site at Resorts,

* There will also be a New Jersey-wide $10 buy-in tournament for those who want to celebrate all across the state on PokerStarsNJ.com.

* Saturday night will feature one of the brand’s signature PokerStars VIP Club Live events including beachside drinks, food and entertainment at The Landshark Bar & Grille Restaurant.

There will also be various games and activities along the way with Team Pros, including a chess simulation with Jennifer Shahade. It will all be a great way to play and celebrate a return to US soil.

“We’re very proud of PokerStars’ initial success in New Jersey and looking forward to seeing our fans in person as we celebrate at Resorts,” said Eric Hollreiser, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Amaya. “Bringing JCarver and his band of merry poker fans to New Jersey will create even more excitement and interest in the New Jersey online gaming market.”

True to form Somerville will be streaming live on Twitch throughout the weekend, and will take part in the Q & A, games, and giveaways with fellow Team Pros.

“I’m incredibly excited to host our first one-day Run it Up festival on the east coast with two great partners in PokerStars and Resorts,” said Jason Somerville, PokerStars Pro and host of Run it Up. “It’s been so much fun playing and streaming on PokerStars New Jersey this month and I can’t wait to hang out with all of our awesome Run it Up fans in person. It’ll totally be worth putting on pants.”

Want to come help us celebrate? Get a ticket to this exclusive occasion in one of two ways.

First you can win a ticket in advance in a special “Run It Up: Resorts with VIP Club Live” freeroll on May 1.

Alternatively you can simply buy a ticket for $10, the money raised going to Autism Speaks.

That entitles you to a wristband granting you access to all the daytime activities and the VIP Club Live party in the evening. However you get there you’re in for a great day.

Run It Up Resorts Rumble FAQ

Q: When and where is the event?

A: Saturday, May 14th at the Resorts Casino/Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. Registration starts at 9:00am and the activities (and a light breakfast) begin at 10:00am in Resorts’ Atlantic Ballroom.

Q: Who will be there?

A: You! Along with Chris Moneymaker, Jen Shahade, Vanessa Selbst, Barry Greenstein, Liv Boeree, and of course, your host Jason “JCarver” Somerville.

Q: What are the activities?

A: Hard to keep track:

  • Breakfast meet and greet with Team PokerStars

  • A $10 online tournament for anybody who is in the state of New Jersey, just to celebrate PokerStars, VIP Club Live and Run It Up coming together in New Jersey.
  • Battleship stations so you can play heads up against your favorite PokerStars celebrities.
  • Q and A sessions with PokerStars Team Pros.
  • Tables where people can sit and play their favorite poker games online on PokerStars NJ, while chatting (i.e. trash-talking) their table-mates live. We call it “onlive” poker.
  • Play chess against grandmaster Jen Shahade, who will also be doing a chess “simul”, where she plays games against multiple opponents simultaneously.

  • 10:00am – Breakfast and meet and greet with the pros
  • 10:30am – Opening speech from Jason Somerville
  • 11:00am – Run It Up Resorts Rumble – $30 tournament played onlive at Resorts.
  • 11:00am – Onlive cash games kick off. Find a physical table, get everybody at that table playing the same online cash game on PokerStars NJ – and you have onlive poker!
  • 11:30am – Online tournament for all of NJ to celebrate the event. $10 buy-in
  • 12:00pm – Liv Boeree hosts some silly competition for people who have busted from the tournament(s). Players can win PokerStars NJ giveaways.

Q: What about the VIP Club Live party that evening?

A: Glad you asked. PokerStars will be hosting one of its legendary VIP Club Live parties at the Landshark Bar and Grill, a 30-second walk from the Resorts Casino/Hotel. That event begins at 7:30pm and runs until midnight. It will feature an open bar, food, and entertainment. Registration into the Run It Up Resorts Rumble gets you entry into the party as well. You can read more about that here.

Q: How old do I have to be to participate?

A: At least 21 years of age. Even if you don’t intend to play any of the poker events, you must be 21. That goes for the VIP Club Live event as well.

Q: Will there be any live poker?

A: No. All poker played at this event will be “onlive” – that is, you are playing online poker, at a brick and mortar venue. With all your friends and poker buddies sitting around you.

Q: Do I have to bring my own laptop, tablet, or smartphone?

A: Yes. Please have your own device for playing the onlive tournaments and cash games. We will have power strips available but please bring your own power cord or phone/tablet charger.

Q: Are there hotel rooms available for the event?
