Players around the world are furiously chasing down end-of-year Supernova and Supernova Elite VIP Club levels, but some of last night’s big winners got to start popping champagne corks well before the New Year countdown.
T.J. “WhatArunAA” Slifka picked up a second Sunday Million win to bank more than $208k after a deal with Nicasio “NICA-TUCUMAN” Toranzo, who picked up more than $190k. You can read the full final table report here. Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer scored another final table to take his recorded lifetime online tournament winnings up to almost $3.8m.
It was also a pretty good day for vrangen of Denmark who won the Sunday Warm-up with no deal made for $113,072. Get the Dom on ice. Read that write up here. In fact, you can see who made which final tables by clicking here, including the Battle of the Planets showdown.
As mentioned, there’s been an end-of-year flurry of activity at the high stakes tables as players desperately try to book their Supernova and Supernova Elite levels. Unlike the regular levels – Chrome through to Platinum – the Supernova VIP Club levels are based on annual accruements, not a monthly grind. This has left with some players, such as Team PokerStars Online’s Marc-Andre Ladouceur having to put the pedal to the metal for the last few days of 2013.
Good luck to Ladouceur and all the other grinders looking to book their SN and SNE statuses.
