2015 has been a banner year for repeat SCOOP champions and tonight was no different. Less than a week ago, 2010 EPT Grand Final champion Nicolas “niccc” Chouity picked up his second career SCOOP title in Event #22-H. That night he braved the shark-infested waters of a high-stakes NLHE field, but today, he was on the opposite end of the spectrum, staying patient and picking good spots in a $27 buy-in NL Omaha Hi/Lo MTT. Niccc was at or near the chip lead from 300 players remaining to the final table, where he put on a clinic and eliminated two players on the final hand to claim his third career SCOOP victory and become the fourth player to win multiple titles in the 2015 SCOOP.

Event #34-L drew 2,353 players, the prize pool topping out at $57,766.15. 306 places were paid with $9,244.14 going to the champion.

After nine hours and forty-five minutes of play, the blinds were up to 12,500/25,000. Ten players remained and SoyDelGlobo open-shoved for 661,660 from UTG. Niccc called and turned over Aâ™  K♣ 10♦ 2â™  while SoyDelGlobo showed A♦ 6♣ 6♥ 2♦ . SoyDelGlobo picked up the nut flush draw on the Q♦ 10♣ 9♦ flop while niccc made a pair of tens. The Kâ™  turn gave niccc kings and tens and the 8â™  river missed SoyDelGlobo’s draw, sending him to the rail on the final table bubble.

Seat 4: reijomo (895,606 in chips)

Blinds were up to 17,500/35,000 when short stack zorba567 opened for 70,000 and niccc called from the big blind. The flop came down A♠ K♥ 2♣ and niccc checked to zorba567, who bet 315,000. Niccc raised to 630,000 and zorba567 called all-in with A♣ A♥ K♦ 5♥ for top set. Niccc revealed Q♦ J♣ 5♦ 3♠ for a low draw and two gutshot straight draws. Zorba567 hung on as the 9♣ turned, but the 4♣ river made niccc a wheel and he scooped the pot, eliminating zorba567 in ninth place.

Later in the same level, the action folded around to Demonic16, who open-shoved for 702,623 from the small blind with Aâ™  A♥ J♥ 9♥ . Nunc Fluvium called with A♦ K♣ 10â™  3♥ . Demonic16’s aces held up on the 7â™  3♦ 2♣ flop, but Nunc Fluvium turned the K♥ to make kings and threes. The river was the 9♣ and Demonic16 hit the rail in eighth place.

Nunc Fluvium increased his chip lead to 3.75 million, but doubled up both reijomo and MagodelSiam to fall back to 2.24 million. Then, with the blinds up to 20,000/40,000, niccc opened for 80,000 and got three callers– Kurler7, Nunc Fluvium and reijomo. The flop came down A♣ J♥ 9♣ and the action checked to Kurler7, who bet 177,500. Nunc Fluvium called, reijomo folded and niccc called. The turn came the 5♥ and Nunc Fluvium checked. Niccc bet 777,777 and both Kurler7 and Nunc Fluvium called. The river was the 5♦ and Nunc Fluvium checked to niccc, who shoved for 958,777. Both Kurler and Nunc Fluvium folded and niccc raked in the 3.22 million pot. With 4.18 million in chips, miccc once again had a firm grasp on the chip lead.

Four hands later, the action folded to reijomo and he moved all-in for 736,518. PIPON777 called with A♥ A♠ J♥ 4♣ and reijomo revealed 8♣ 6♣ 4♦ 3♦ . PIPON made aces and tens on the J♦ 7♠ 7♥ 10♠ 10♣ board while reijomo did not improve and exited in seventh place. Then, on the very next deal MagodelSiam open-shoved for 1.88 million from the cutoff and niccc reraised to 3.71 million from the small blind to isolate.

niccc A♠ J♣ 3♣ 2♥
MagodelSiam A♥ K♣ 5♥ 4♥

Niccc flopped a pair of deuces on the 10♦ 9♦ 2♠ 6♦ Q♦ board and it was enough to scoop the pot and eliminate MagodelSiam in sixth place.

As play turned five-handed, niccc was the runaway chip leader with 6.14 million and PIPON777 was the short stack with 1.02 million. With the blinds up to 25,000/50,000, Madam329 opened for 100,000 and PIPON777 shoved for 1,014,986. Madam329 called, her A♦ Q♦ 6♥ 4♣ up against A♠ K♦ 8♦ 2♦ . PIPON777 got the best of it on the K♥ 5♣ 4♠ flop with a pair of kings and the nut low draw while Madam329 made a pair of fours. The 10♥ turn was a blank for both players and the river Q♥ improved Madam329 to queens and fours. With no qualifying low, Madam329 scooped the pot and PIPON777 went out in fifth place.

Two hands later, Nunc Fluvium opened for 112,500 on the button and Madam329 shoved for 1,997,174 with A♦ J♥ J♣ 3♣ . Nunc Fluvium called and turned over Aâ™  8â™  3♥ 2♦ . Both players made two pair aces and threes on the A♥ 7♦ 3♦ flop while Nunc Fluvium picked up a low draw. The turn was the Q♦ , but the 8♣ river made Nunc Fluvium aces and eights as well as a 8-7-3-2-A low, and Madam329’s run came to an end in fourth place.

Niccc still held the chip lead three-handed, but Kurler7 doubled to 3.18 million at his expense. With the board reading Q♦ 4♣ 2♦ 10♠ on the turn, niccc bet 205,200 and Kurler7 moved all-in for 1.37 million with Q♣ Q♠ 8♣ 5♣ . Niccc called with A♦ K♠ 6♦ 4♦ for flush and low draws to go with his pair of fours. However, niccc missed when the river fell the 9♠ and Kurler7 doubled with his set of queens.

Undeterred, niccc scooped four seven-figure pots in a row, taking his stack from 4.32 million to 7.68 million. The blinds were 40,000/80,000 and Nunc Fluvium was down to 507,000 when he open-shoved on the button. Niccc reshoved for 7.7 million from the small blind and Kurler7 called all-in for 3.45 million from the big.

Nunc Fluvium A♠ J♠ 4♣ 3♦
niccc A♦ K♥ J♥ 6♣
Kurler7 A♣ 3♠ 2♠ 2♣

Niccc took a huge lead when the flop came down K♦ 9♣ 5♦ and made him a pair of kings. The 5♥ turn removed the possibility of anyone making a low hand, and the J♣ river improved niccc to kings and jacks, besting Nunc Fluvium’s jacks and fives and Kurler7’s fives and deuces. There would be no heads-up play; smaller stack Nunc Fluvium took third place, Kurler7 was second, and niccc locked up his second SCOOP title of 2015.

Congratulations to Nicolas “niccc” Chouity on his third career SCOOP title! He banked $9,244.14 for the win, while runner-up Kurler7 earned $6,931.93.
