What an incredible 2015 SCOOP series it has been, and what better way to close it out than with some turbo-charged fun! A huge field, a massive prize pool and all over within five hours of total play!
With such a fast-paced structure you have to run good, and especially in the big moments, and Canada’s Robert “Little Kraut” Deppe did exactly that. Deppe was dominant on the final table and emerged from the pack to claim the title in Event #46-M and top prize of $97,064.54.
The $109 No Limit Holdem Turbo Event, with optional re-entries, attracted a huge field of 6,206 entries. That number was comprised of 5,342 unique players and 864 re-entries to combine to form a $620,600 prize pool which was more than double the advertised guarantee.
It was such a big day on the online poker calendar that it was no surprise to see the Team PokerStars Pros out in force.
Victor Ramdin fired three bullets into the prize pool and Leo Fernandez took a couple of shots, but neither would make the money. Others Team PokerStars Pros to fall included Liv Boeree, Jason Mercier, Kosei Ichinose, Martin Hrubý, , Jake Cody, Matthias de Meulder, Felix Schneiders, Bertrand Grospellier, Christophe de Meulder, Mickey Petersen, Marcin Horecki, Tyler Frost, Naoya Kihara, Theo Jørgensen, Jaime Staples, Johnny Lodden, George Lind, Ixe Haxton, Lex Veldhuis, Marc-Andre Ladouceur, Caio Pessagno, Natalie Hof, Andre Akkari, Liliya Novikova, Randy Lew and João Nunes.
The top 810 players would finish in the money but it would be Killuckkk from Malta who was the bubble in 811th place, leaving everyone else guaranteed at least a $173.76 collect.
George Danzer (738th – $179.97), Andre Coimbra (637th – $192.38) and Adrienne Rowsome (180th – $359.94) were the red spades to finish in the money, and when Denmark’s IgorKarkarof was bounced out in tenth place, our final table was set as follows:
Final Table Line Up
Seat 1: skarbnik79 (1,252,368 in chips)
Seat 2: summuNNN (9,415,602 in chips)
Seat 3: inca7bar (3,353,585 in chips)
Seat 4: luckyme1414 (1,714,882 in chips)
Seat 5: wuutti (3,069,586 in chips)
Seat 6: Léo82 (4,723,028 in chips)
Seat 7: Stas_kl11 (3,587,237 in chips)
Seat 8: Robert “Little Kraut” Deppe (2,468,719 in chips)
Seat 9: FiskUggla (1,444,993 in chips)
summuNNN came into the final table with a huge chip lead after making a fortunate straight with ace-nine against IgorKarkarof’s ace-queen with eleven players left, but with the final table blinds starting at a massive 150k/300k/37.5k, there were going to be plenty more bad beats before this tournament was over.
summuNNN was able to continue the momentum with a double knockout on just the second hand of the final table. FiskUggla shoved the button with A♣K♠ and skarbnik79 committed with Q♦10♥ from the small blind. summuNNN was in the big blind and woke up with J♥J♦ to make the call against the two short stacks. The board ran out 5♣9♦4♥8♥8♣ which missed everyone, leaving the jacks to take it down. skarbnik79 was the shortest stack, and therefore received $4,964.80 for ninth place, while FiskUggla got a pay jump to $7,757.50 for eighth place.
The very next hand would see luckyme1414 join the rail. After Robert “Little Kraut” Deppe shoved from middle position, luckyme1414 called in the big blind with A♣2♦. Little Kraut showed A♥6♦ and paired up on the 4♠5♣6♠5♦7♥ board to leave luckyme1414, who won a SCOOP title in Event #21-M earlier this series, to depart in seventh place for $13,963.50.
After an orbit of relative calm, the action picked up again with the elimination of wuutti. With the blinds sneaking up to 250k/500k/62.5k, wuutti moved all in from the cutoff position for under three big blinds with A♣6♣. Little Kraut made the call in the big blind with J♦9♠ and caught good on the Q♦3♣4♥9♦K♣ board. wuutti would take home a very nice $20,169.50 for sixth place.
Little Kraut continued to surge with a big clash against Stas_kl11. With the blinds up to 300k/600k/75k, Stas_kl11 moved all in with A♠4♦ but Little Kraut re-raised to isolate with a dominant A♥9♠. The board of K♥K♠2♠6♣Q♠ were all blanks which meant Stas_kl11 had to go in fifth place for a $26,375.50 score.
A mini war then erupted between Little Kraut and Léo82 with the two exchanging some hefty pots. First we would see both players flop top pair but Léo82’s jack-king would ultimately outkick the jack-eight of Little Kraut. The very next hand, Little Kraut would recover those chips with a double up with king-queen pairing the board twice to better Léo82’s ace-ten.
The final collision between the two would see Léo82 shove A♣K♦ from the small blind and Little Kraut call in the big blind with J♠J♥. The board ran out 3♠9♣9♥7♣J♦ to give Little Kraut a full house to send Léo82 to the exit in fourth place for $35,063.90.
Little Kraut continued to extend the advantage over the final three but summuNNN closed the gap with the elimination of the short-stacked inca7bar.
With around four big blinds, inca7bar moved all in from the button with Q♣8♠ and summuNNN made a gambling call in the big blind with 6♦4♦. The board fell 3♦3♥6♥5♣K♥ to pair up the six of summuNNN to snatch the pot. inca7bar would have to be content with third place and a tidy $51,106.41 in prize money.
Heads-up chip counts
Seat 2: summuNNN (11,679,048 in chips)
Seat 8: Little Kraut (19,350,952 in chips)
summuNNN would take the first hand of heads-up play and Little Kraut would win the second, before the third hand of the heads-up contest was also the last of the tournament.
Little Kraut raised the button before summuNNN moved all in holding A♣6♣, but Little Kraut was quick to call and table a monster Q♥Q♣. The board of 2♠J♥8♠9♣10♠ offered no help to summuNNN as Little Kraut would make a straight to claim a dominant victory!
A great run by summuNNN fell short at the final hurdle but $72,299.90 should ease the pain as one of the final SCOOP titles of the series went to Canada’s Robert “Little Kraut” Deppe along with $97,064.54 in prize money. Congratulations!
