It’s been a pretty good year at the PokerStars tables for jungledancer. After starting 2015 off with no COOP titles at all, January produced a pot-limit Omaha victory during TCOOP. Now the Ukrainian player is two-thirds of the way to a Triple COOP after winning a SCOOP title in Event #39-L.

HORSE was the game, and with a $7.50 buy-in there were plenty of players willing to play some mixed-game poker. In all 3,975 registered, building a $27,109.50 prize pool to be split among the top 520 players. The 10 hours it took to winnow the field saw Team Online’s Adrienne “talonchick” Rowsome hold the chip lead for a while, sitting in first place with more than half the players who would eventually cash already on the rail. She eventually finished in 63rd place ($54.21), but her teammate Roy “GodlikeRoy” Bhasin was still in the running. He hovered just outside a final table position for much of the way, sitting in 14th with 43 remaining and 12th with 22 left, but finally bowed out in 18th ($101.66).

In the end these eight players survived to sit down at the final table at 12:07 a.m. ET:

Seat 1: K Ä M P F (253,004 in chips)
Seat 2: shalomrum (1,586,300 in chips)
Seat 3: narf327 (654,724 in chips)
Seat 4: jungledancer (2,099,665 in chips)
Seat 5: KAkkkkeTKA (6,708,263 in chips)
Seat 6: meltaus (4,323,659 in chips)
Seat 7: Sovijatichar (1,418,950 in chips)
Seat 8: cudponty (2,830,435 in chips)

The action was muted for the remainder of the 100K/200K/20K Razz round that carried over to the final, but once the 120K/240K/24K Stud round arrived things sped up considerably.

cudponty opened Hand #7 for 120K with the Qâ™  showing, and K Ä M P F raised 5K more all-in with the Aâ™  face-up. The table’s other TCOOP 2015 winner, shalomrum, was already in for 36K, having brought it in with the 3♥ up, and also called. By fifth street shalomrum had check-called all-in and the three players’ boards ran out like so:

cudponty: (A♦ 5♥ ) Q♠ J♦ K♥ 10♠ (Q♣ )
shalomrum: (3♣ K♣ ) 3♥ A♣ 4♣ 9♥ (10♦ )
K Ä M P F: (4♠ 9♦ ) A♠ 8♠ 7♥ 9♣ (J♣ )

cudponty’s Broadway straight won out over shalomrum’s pair of treys and K Ä M P F’s pair of nines to win the 1.03M chips in the pot. Shorter-stacked K Ä M P F finished in 8th place ($243.98), while shalomrum took 7th place ($406.64).

meltaus brought in the next hand with the 5♥ up and Sovijatichar, at a second SCOOP 2015 final table after Event #28-L, completed to 120K with the 9♣ up. cudponty called with the 10♥ up before narf raised to 240K with just 262K left behind and the Q♠ showing. Both Sovijatichar and cudponty called, but the latter would drop out by fifth street to leave narf327 heads-up, all-in, and in need of help:

Sovijatichar: (A♣ 10♣ ) 9♣ 8♣ 7♣
narf327: (4♦ Q♥ ) Q♠ Q♣ 2♣

The case queen or any pairing card would have won the pot for narf327, but the J♥ on sixth street and A♦ on seventh didn’t fit the bill. That gave Sovijatichar the 1.54M-chip pot and busted narf327 in 6th place ($813.28).

After that quick burst of activity, the remaining five players played through the rest of 120K/240K/24K Stud, 120K/240K/24K Stud hi/lo, and 160K/320K Hold’em without any knockouts, but jungledancer won a 2.96M-chip pot on the final hand of the hold’em round, flopping trip queens heads-up against big blind defender meltaus after raising the button with K♦ Qâ™  .

That moved jungledancer into a comfortable third place with 4.64M ahead of short-stacked Sovijatichar (707K) and cudponty (671K). Six hands into 160K/320K Omaha hi/lo those two would clash heads-up, with Sovijatichar re-raising all-in from the big blind before the flop with A♣ K♥ 6♥ 4â™  after cudponty opened with A♦ Q♦ 8♦ 2♦ . cudponty’s two pair on the flop was all it took to win the pot after the board fell 8♣ 10♣ Q♣ K♦ 9â™  , and Sovijatichar left in 5th place ($1,355.47).

jungledancer’s hot streak kept up during the O/8 round, quartering meltaus to win 2.04M and then scooping 1.6M against KAkkkkeTKA, and continued over to the 200K/400K/40K Razz round with back-to-back wins worth 3.6M and 3.3M. The end result was a stack worth 9.56M and the chip lead.

meltaus had just two big bets and got the bulk of them in on third street with (5♥ 6♣ ) 2♣ against cudponty’s (3♥ 8♦ ) 9♦ . By fifth street meltaus had paired the deuce and picked up a king, while cudponty had a made T-9. cudponty paired with the 10♥ on sixth street, but meltaus’ Qâ™  left the Finnish player drawing dead. cudponty won the 1.9M-chip pot, and meltaus was gone in 4th place ($1,897.66).

cudponty was in better chip position at 3M, but it was still an uphill battle with three players left as jungledancer led with 9.12M and KAkkkkeTKA followed with 7.71M. The Hungarian player managed to hang tight as the game changed to 200K/400K/40K Stud and the other two players battled with one another. And jungledancer got the better of the majority of those battles with KAkkkkeTKA as the game moved to 250K/500K/50K, Stud hi/lo, chipping up to 14M while KAkkkkeTKA fell to 4.65M. Then KAkkkkeTKA struck back by scooping the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

jungledancer brought it in with the 3♣ , KAkkkkeTKA completed to 250K with the A♣ , and cudponty raised to 500K with the 9♣ . cudponty got all-in by fifth street, and KAkkkkeTKA called jungledancer’s bets on sixth and seventh to take all three players to showdown. jungledancer showed (6♥ 4â™  ) 3♣ A♦ K♦ 5♥ (10â™  ) for ace-high and a 6-5 low, while KAkkkkeTKA had (6♣ 4♥ ) A♣ 6â™  2â™  J♣ (3â™  ) for a pair of sixes and a 6-4. That was good for a 5.56M-chip scoop as cudponty mucked and left in 3rd place ($2,439.85).

jungledancer had a lead of about six big blinds at the start of heads-up play, but by the time 250K/500K limit hold’em rolled around the two players were nearly even in chips, within less than a fifth of a small blind of one another. They decided to cut a deal, and within four minutes there was $3,521 set aside for each player and $500 left on the table for the winner.

The game resumed and jungledancer took a 5.7M-chip lead after opening and then four-betting before and after the 9♣ 3♥ Q♠ flop with K♣ K♦ . KAkkkkeTKA slowed down and check-called on the J♠ turn and 6♦ river but mucked as jungledancer dragged the 6M-chip pot.

KAkkkkeTKA was down to 5.45M at the end of the hold’em round and faced continued pressure through the entire 300K/600K Omaha hi/lo round before opening for a raise on the button on the final hand with J♥ 5♥ 8♣ Qâ™  . jungledancer called with 8â™  4♥ 7â™  6â™  and led with a straight flush draw on the 10â™  9â™  10♥ flop. KAkkkkeTKA got all-in within four bets and was a favorite with that wrap straight draw, which got there after the Jâ™  turn and 9♦ river. But jungledancer’s draw had come in, too, and the straight flush took the pot to bring the tournament to a close.

The even split heads-up meant a $3,522.94 prize for KAkkkkeTKA, a jump of more than $3,300 over the Russian player’s previous biggest PokerStars cash. And with that extra $500 on the table, jungledancer collected $4,021.44 for the win, the fifth biggest cash of the Ukrainian’s career at PokerStars. More importantly, it’s the second COOP title after that TCOOP win earlier this year, which is guaranteed to make WCOOP an even more interesting ride later this fall. Congratulations to both players!
