Mixed Omaha, Pot-Limit Omaha, Limit Stud H/L and now Razz – what a lovely few days of tournaments for fans of mixed games, and an ideal way to prepare for the 8-game events starting today.

Razz is essentially Stud except it’s a low game where you’re trying to make the worst hand. Some find the variant exhilarating, many find it exasperating. Event #32-M had a buy in of $215 and players could re-enter up to three times. By the end of the re-entry period 542 entries were confirmed, made up of 393 unique and 149 re-entries. They all helped take the $50k guaranteed prize pool up to $108,400.

The top 72 got paid, earning a minimum of $341.46. Stephen “stevie444” Chidwick is no stranger to making deep SCOOP runs but he was the unfortunate bubble boy yesterday. Play continued and by the end of the day, just eight players remained. They’re all guaranteed $1,897.00 but all will have eyes on the $20,487.60 that will be awarded to the winner.

dumBBass86 took down this title last year after defeating Calvin “cal42688” Anderson heads up, but the Russian failed to make a deep run this year, falling in 367th and 302nd with each entry. Only four Team Pros turned out for this one and Jason “jcarverpoker” Somerville was the only one to cash, earning $894.30 for his 17th place finish. Jason “JasonMercier” Mercier, Naoya “nkenyo” Kihara and George “GeorgeDanzer” Danzer were the others to enter (three and four times respectively for the latter two) but failed to make a mark in this one.

Final table

Seat 1: jstclkdabtn (353,851 in chips)
Seat 2: Fresh_oO_D (1,709,613 in chips)
Seat 3: marek_heinz (205,424 in chips)
Seat 4: Arturio30 (984,678 in chips)
Seat 5: oOwL (176,492 in chips)
Seat 6: dejanaceking (371,416 in chips)
Seat 7: SixthSenSe19 (411,430 in chips)
Seat 8: Kanehead11 (1,207,096 in chips)

Jens “Fresh_oO_D” Lakemeier came into the final as clear chip leader and passed the 2 million mark after he busted Daniel “jstclkdabtn” Levy in eighth place. With the blinds at 32k/64k, Arturio30, who’d had connection problems at the start of play, posted the bring in before Kanehead11 raised and jstclkdabtn reraised. Arturio30 folded but Fresh_oO_D and Kanehead called. Fresh_oO_D bet all the way and jstclkdabtn called all the way, leaving just 1,051 back. Fresh_oO_D  had 7♦ A♦ 6♦ 8♣ 2♣ J♣ 10♣ for an 8-7-6-2-A. jstclkdabtn had (X-X)/4♣ K♥ 7â™  9♥ /(x) and mucked, before busting to the same player the very next hand.

Nine hands later marek_heinz joined the Australian on the rail. The 2015 SCOOP Event #19-M ($215 Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, 8-Max) champion fell to oOwL after getting 71,024 in on 3rd street, and being called.

oOwL: 7♠ 3♥ A♥ K♣ 5♠ 4♦ A♠
marek_heinz: 6♦ 5♣ 7♥ J♥ 9♠ J♠ Q♠

oOwl won the pot with 7-5-4-3-A beating marek_heinz’s J-9-7-6-5 and tried to initiate deal talks but received no response from the other players.

One of Uruguay’s most talented players – Fabrizio “SixthSenSe19” Gonzalez – was next to depart. He lost a big pot to Dejan “dejanaceking” Divkovic (who moved up to second place) and the last of his chips went to the player in first, Fresh_oO_D. SixthSenSe19 called all-in and Fresh_oO_D successfully raised to isolate.

Fresh_oO_D: 3♠ 4♣ 2♠ J♣ 2♥ Q♦ 8♠
SixthSenSe19: 9♦ 2♣ 7♣ 7♠ K♠ 4♥ Q♥

Fresh_oO_D showed J-8-4-3-2 to beat SixthSenSe19’s Q-9-7-4-2 and moved up to over 2.3 million, good for a lead of over a million.

Five soon became four after oOwL busted a three-way pot with Kanehead11 and Arturio30. After a series of raises on 3rd street oOwL managed to get most of their stack in before the rest went in on 4th street. Chips went in on 5th, 6th and 7th street creating a 1.229 million pot.

Kanehead11: 6♠ A♦ 5♠ 4♠ 10♥ 7♠ 3♣
Arturio30: 7♣ 2♠ A♠ 4♣ K♥ 3♠ 9♠
oOw: (x)(x)/3♦ 8♠ 2♣ 3♥ /(x)

Kanehead11 took the big pot with 6-5-4-3-A and moved back into second place with over 1.562 million.

Arturio30 was left very short after that loss but the Ukrainian doubled twice through dejanaceking to get back into contention. That put dejanaceking on a slide that almost had him on the rail, but the Bosnian – who has already won a SCOOP title this week (Event #26-M) – came storming back with an incredible run of hands that saw him go from fewer than 200k all the way up to 2.6 million, and into the chip lead.

All three opponents suffered during that period, none more so than Arturio30, and the next time the Ukrainian was all-in, the cards didn’t fall as sweet and the sidelines called. Kanehead11’s stack wasn’t that healthy either but taking the pot and the scalp was a turning point. The chips went in on 6th street.

Kanehead11: 6♥ 8♥ 5♠ 10♥ 5♥ Q♥ 4♣ for a T-8-6-5-4.
Arturio30: 2♣ A♣ 5♦ 9♥ 5♣ 9♣ 10♣ for a T-9-5-2-A.

Kanehead11 used that to build momentum and took over the chip lead as both opponents’ stacks went on the slide. Fresh_oO_D recovered to retake over the lead, but dejanaceking went on a slide he couldn’t recover from, and he busted in third place to narrowly miss out on a second SCOOP title in four days. He was short enough to raise three-bet all-in against Kanehead11.

Kanehead11: 2♠ 7♠ 8♣ A♣ 4♥ 3♥ 9♠ for a 7-4-3-2-A
dejanaceking: 5♠ 2♦ J♥ J♣ 9♦ 7♣ 8♦ for a 9-8-7-5-2

Considering how early the chips went in, dejanaceking made a decent 9-8-7-5-2, but it wasn’t enough to beat Kanehead11’s 7-4-3-2-A.

Heads up

Fresh_oO_D (2,917,724 in chips)
Kanehead11 (2,502,276 in chips)
Blinds: 70,000/140,000

The remaining two players were very evenly matched at the beginning of their heads up battle, but that all changed six hands in when Fresh_oO_D won a 1.8 million pot to move 2 million clear on 3.7 million.

Fresh_oO_D reraised on 3rd street, bet 4th 5th and 6th street where Kanehead11 raised. The latter bet 7th street and called when Fresh_oO_D raised.

Fresh_oO_D: 4♠ 2♠ 8♠ 10♣ 3♦ 7♥ 5♦ for 7-5-4-3-2.
Kanehead11: (x)(x)/5♣ 6♣ K♣ /(x) and mucked.

The next 20 hands saw the players trade jabs with neither of them able to land a telling blow. Then a quick one-two combination by Fresh_oO_D had Kanehead11 on the ropes with fewer than half a million. Ten hands later, it was all over.

Jens Lakemeier – champion
Fresh_oO_D raised on 3rd street, bet 4th and 5th street before being raised by Kanehead11. The German came back with a three-bet though that was enough to set Kanehead11 all-in. Call.

Fresh_oO_D: Q♣ 3♥ 4♣ 2♦ A♦ 8♣ 9♣ and won with 8-4-3-2-A.
Kanehead11 showed 8♥ 2♥ 10♦ 7♦ 3♣ A♠ K♥ and lost with 8-7-3-2-A.

Jens “Fresh_oO_D” Lakemeier entered the final as chip leader and, apart from a wobble three-handed, put on another master class to claim the title and $20,487.60. Congratulations to him, Kanehead11 and all the other finalists.
