You want a fast way to blow a legit thousand dollars and maybe win a prize from the top shelf? Step right up and take a swing at SCOOP’s Event #5 high buy-in Pot Limit Omaha Turbo 1R1A event. If you are not willing to try to throw a softball into an old fashioned milk jug or hit the impossible painted star with a dart this game is not for you. Just two and a half hours it took to tear down 221 entries into this high rolling event for players who laughed at the $150,000 guarantee while creating a $489,000 prize pool thru 159 rebuys and 109 add-ons.

Since this is a high-roller type event only those with the means to get several rolls of tickets for the game they were playing. Players such as Team PokerStars Pros Marcel Luske, Johannes Steindl, Thomas Bichon, Humberto Brenes, Barry Greenstein, and others flying the PokerStars flag. Tournament kings such as Tmay420 (11th place), SirWatts (13th place), and WhooooKidd (19th place) managed to slide into the money.

Noah “Exclusive” Boeken: 33rd place

Some of those others were found in the money as 36 players got paid. Noah “Exclusive” Boeken cashed for $3,667.50 in 33rd place, but one Team PokerStars Pro would take the chip lead into the final table. Chris “Money800” Moneymaker sailed into the final table up top of the chip count after we said good bye to well-known high stakes PLO cash game pro CHUFTY in tenth place. With the rapid pace of the turbo format, all-in and a call without flop action was the norm as the blinds were up to 6K/12K and CHUFTY was left with just 3,954 chips UTG and threw the scraps into the middle as floes would raise the rest of the table off the hand holding 10â™  Q♦ 3â™  A♦ . CHUFTY, not in bad shape with Aâ™  Jâ™  2♥ 3♥ , but he would still get out-kicked in the end as the board came down A♣ 9â™  Kâ™  9♥ 4♦ to slide the 33.9K pot to floes setting up the final table below:

Seat 1: gcnmoo (106126 in chips)
Seat 2: NYC P.I.M.P (270726 in chips)
Seat 3: TheMuppet (101406 in chips)
Seat 4: floes (191680 in chips)
Seat 5: Money800 (372938 in chips)
Seat 6: $teveyMoney (80813 in chips)
Seat 7: coxnator (74038 in chips)
Seat 8: villepn (173583 in chips)
Seat 9: Dusnumbri (95690 in chips)

The final table was of the blink and it was gone variety as the push and pray method was the only way to play with the rapidly increasing turbo blinds. If the preflop raise didn’t take down the pot or the big blind taking a walk, there was next to zero post-flop play for the entire 45 minutes this final table took to finish.

On the ninth hand of the final table with the blinds moving up to 8K/16K we had a three way hand with Moneymaker and villpn calling the all-in of $teveyMoney creating a 188,439 chip pot. In the rare post-flop play, villpn would shove at the 8â™  7♦ 8♣ flop knocking Money800 out of the hand and turning over flopped trips Aâ™  Q♦ 8♦ Q♣ , which at $teveyMoney’s 3♣ J♣ A♣ Q♥ looking very grim. 5♣ kept the all-in alive but the Kâ™  on the river sent $teveyMoney home in ninth place ($9,291.00).

This wasn’t $teveyMoney’s first brush with big cash at SCOOP, as he notched a 5th place showing at last years SCOOP Main Event High buy-in for $281,120.

Five hands later we had another causality as the blinds again rose, this time to 10K/20K as NYC P.I.M.P gave TheMuppet a full house slap out of the tournament. NYC P.I.M.P. potted to 60K as TheMuppet shoved for 117,406 and NYC P.I.M.P. called holding A♦ Q♠ 4♠ J♥ . TheMuppet rolled over the connective Q♣ 10♠ Q♦ 9♥ but the J♠ A♣ 5♦ 3♥ J♣ board would favor the pimp hand heavily as NYC P.I.M.P. would hit a boat on the river sending TheMuppet back home to the UK with $12,225.00 in eighth place.

Going quick enough for you yet?

The very next hand saw floes and Dusnumbri tangle preflop all-in with floes covering. Watch the chopped pot become someone’s elimination on the river below:

Both players had the nut straight on the turn, but only one person is allowed to have the nut flush and floes’ 6â™  Kâ™  A♥ Q♥ would hit the redraw sending Dusnumbri’s K♦ A♣ 9♣ A♦ packing in seventh place ($17,115.00).

Both gcnmoo and coxnator would survive all-ins in the next two hands and four hands later gcnmoo would take a big 310,428 pot off Moneymaker when gcnmoo’s aces 6â™  A♣ A♥ 5♦ managed to dodge the connected Qâ™  2♥ K♥ Aâ™  of the World Champ.

coxnator’s double-up did not last long and was knocked back down to just 37,993 chips thanks to the rising blinds that stood at 12.5K/25K. Facing a raise from villepn that would put those remaining chips in the middle, coxnator made the call holding very pretty double suited aces Aâ™  A♣ 2â™  5♣ , but villepn held mid-wrap hand 6♥ 7♣ 8♦ 5♥ . And when those mid-range cards managed to pair four out of the five board cards J♥ 6♣ 5♦ 7â™  7♦ , coxnator’s aces were downed by villepn’s boat. For the effort in this virtual slot machine tournament $22,005.00 was set aside for the sixth place finish.

World Champ fights back.

13 hands after giving up those chips the Team PokerStars Pro came back to get them and doubled up off villepn in the process. In another showing of post-flop play with the blinds at 15K/30K, Money800 would pot it to 90K and get called by villepn to see a 10♠ J♣ J♦ flop. Immediate villepn tried to represent the jack by betting to put Moneymaker all-in, but Chris snap called because he actually held a jack 7♥ J♥ 9♠ 6♦ and villepn was in very bad shape with 10♣ 9♥ 4♥ 3♠ . The 6♠ turn sealed up the win and 373,822 chips for Moneymaker.

Possible SCOOP title to go with that WSOP bracelet?

12 hands later with the blinds moving up again to 20K/40K, floes would lead off the betting UTG potting to 140,000 as Money800 repotted to 480,000 putting floes all-in to call. floes would make the call holding Q♠ 8♥ 10♦ J♠ and would be slightly behind the aces of Moneymaker A♠ 10♠ 8♣ A♦ . Three kings marched across the board 5♣ K♦ K♠ 9♣ K♣ giving the Team PokerStars pro a full house and the massive 661,740 chip pot. floes was shown the door in fifth place ($28,362.00).

Two hands later, villepn was back in action trying to take care of the pimp. Watch the two go all-in preflop in the video below:

Wrap hand for NYC P.I.M.P. 10â™  7♣ 9â™  8♥ and a hi-lo hand for villepn 3â™  Kâ™  6♣ A♥ . Unfortunately for NYC P.I.M.P. the K♣ A♣ 6♥ Q♦ 10♦ board showed mostly broadway cards that just couldn’t connect with the wrap hand as villepn’s flopped top two was good enough to scoop the 459,264 chip pot sending NYC P.I.M.P. back to take care of business with an extra $41,565.00 in his trenchcoat for fourth place.

From here on out gcnmoo and villepn would trade pots leaving the Team PokerStars pro the odd man out. gcnmoo would crack Moneymaker’s aces with 7♣ 4♣ Q♥ 8♣ that found two pair and 392,720 chips. Then, five hands later gcnmoo would finish the job. With blinds now standing at 25K/50K, Money800 would pot raise from the button as gcnmoo just called to see a 10♥ A♥ 4♣ flop. Covering Moneymaker, gcnmoo led out enough to put him all-in, and with just 135,152 chips left Money800 made the call holding top pair and a gutshot straight draw 3♦ 10♦ 5♥ Kâ™  but gcnmoo rolled over the same top pair, lesser kicker, but a flush draw 7♥ 10â™  J♥ 9♦ . 2♥ on the turn closed the books on a SCOOP title for Chris Moneymaker but the Team PokerStars pro did receive a great $55,257.00 payday in third place.

Chris “Money800” Moneymaker: Third Place

Settling in for the lengthy heads up, um, whadda mean it’s done?

gcnmoo’s change from shortstack to a 4:1 chip advantage heads-up happens so quick even the turbo blinds didn’t change. But, the chip advantage could have been just one chip instead of the 1.1 million to 296K because this heads-up “battle” would last all of one hand. Both players threw their chips in the middle pre-flop for one last run through the board:

gcnmoo: 9♠ A♦ 8♦ A♣
villepn: K♠ 9♣ 9♥ 2♦

gcnmoo would hit early by flopping a set Jâ™  5♦ A♥ and with the 4♣ falling on the turn villepn was eliminated earning $73,350.00 as tonight’s runner-up. For pulling the slot lever the best and mixing in some skill thru the turbo blinds, gcnmoo walked away $100,000.50 richer this evening by taking down a World Champ and Event #5 in what was the fastest final table seen by myself.
