After all the waiting the Sunday Million Anniversary is finally here.
For 15 years it’s been the biggest and most prestigious weekly online tournament anywhere, and this weekend it celebrates that tradition with a $12.5 million edition.
Put into context two players will log out as millionaires when the last hand is dealt late next Monday.
If you’ve seen the PokerStars Blog homepage in the last few weeks, you’ll know all of this. You’ll also know a little about the history of the event, it’s former winners, and its most spectacular headlines.
You’ll also know how to go about playing it and watching it.
But if you’ve missed any of that, you can find it all here.
You can start by seeing all our Sunday Million Anniversary content in one place.
First the details.
- $12.5 million guaranteed.
- Starts on Sunday 21 March
- An old school buy-in of $215
- Late reg extended to Monday 22 March.
Take a look back over the winners of this event over the years, starting with Luke BdBeatslayer Vrabel back in 2011 (who also won a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4), to last year’s winner Alex AAAArthur Brito from Brazil, who had to settle for a mere $1.1million. Although that wasn’t bad for a $4 satellite win.
You can also browse our Sunday Million timeline, which highlights all the headlines associated with the event over the last 15 years.
Find out how to qualify, whether it’s through one of our $4 Spin & Go’s, or the popular Ticket Machine that continues to award free tickets right up to the starting bell. You can read about that here.
Looking at the event itself you can look at our picks, chosen after years of experience, who might make it a weekend to remember. We have no track record at being right, but they should at least be names familiar to you (and useful to avoid). Read that here.

For anyone looking at all this and thinking they don’t have the experience, or the talent, or the bankroll to play such an event, this is for you. A primer for anyone making the debut, and a must read for anyone who previously thought the Sunday Million was not for them. We hope this goes some way to changing your mind.
Finally, to watch the Sunday Million from the perspective of various streamers, this article will tell you where to find them. All have their own unique take on things, so there’s something for everyone, all the way through to the final table. Check that out here.
All that remains to be said is the obvious. Good luck to everyone playing the Sunday Million this weekend. Remember, registration remains open until the start of Day 2 on Monday. You can also re-enter until that time.
And right up until that point there are satellites running on PokerStars.
The easiest way to find them is under the Sunday Million tab in the tournament lobby. From there you’ll find MTT satellites as well as Spin & Go’s that will get you a seat directly into the event itself.
Then, play your best. Then tell us how you get on.
