Home / Uncategorized / Sunday Warm-Up: Back-to-back final tables profitable for ResumeIgnore winning $86K

Two players in tonight’s $500,000 guarantee Sunday Warm-Up were back from recent trips to this final table. ResumeIgnore dropped by last week and camikater made the final table just a few weeks ago once again showing the best players find a way to knockdown large fields on a regular basis. The post-WSOP crowd started to funnel back in as attendance rose this week to 2,751 players leaving a $550,200.00 prize pool to sort out to the 396 places paid. camikater’s return run would stop short in fourth place, but ResumeIgnore got heads-up against Vinson0031 and used last week’s experience to take it down for $86,656.90 tonight.

After setting up the final two tables of tonight’s Sunday Warm-Up it would take nine minutes to reduce the field to 13 players. lizet555 with a decent $17K cash in the July 10th edition of the Super Tuesday would fall short of another big final table tonight in 17th place ($1,788.15).

SCOOP 2012 Event #39-L champ lucas drolet took home 15th place cash ($2,613.45) after running bad against jaccagerman. With the blinds at 30K/60K ante 6K 678,925 chips went into the middle by lucas drolet over a min-raise by jaccagerman. A dominating J♥ A♥ for lucas drolet looked ready to pick up the 1.4 million chip pot against jaccagerman’s 10♣ A♦ until a ten dropped on the turn K♣ 2♦ 4â™  10♦ 5♥ .

Another SCOOP champ would be the next to fall shortly after lucas drolet. Jan “JacktShipper” De Smet winning Event #5-L of the 2013 series would fall just short of the final table after pushing in his remaining 700,364 chips with pocket tens 10♦ 10♣ facing off against ResumeIgnore’s big slick A♦ Kâ™  . Despite flopping a set A♥ Jâ™  10â™  Q♦ 8♥ ResumeIgnore notched a straight on the turn for the 1.6 million chip win handing $2,613.45 to De Smet in 14th place.

15 minutes after the ninth hourly break and down to hand-for-hand play, shortstacked dialognoster would four-bet shove 1.05 million with Jâ™  Aâ™  slightly over Vinson0031’s three-bet to one million. Vinson0031 easily made the short call with kings K♦ K♣ and watched the 2.2 million chip pot tumble towards those kings after the 4♥ Q♦ 5â™  7♣ J♦ board blanked for dialognoster setting up the final table below:

Return trip starts off well for camikater

Just a few weeks ago camikater took sixth in the Sunday Warm-Up and looked to make a bigger splash tonight after collecting $18,719.80 on June 30th. With the blinds at 65K/130K ante 13K Aussie_star1 would min-raise from middle position as Benjamin134 shoved for the 1.78 million. To the immediate right camikater pumped it up to four million as Aussie_star1 folded. Benjamin134’s A♣ 5♣ failed to overtake camikater’s big slick Kâ™  A♥ as two kings K♣ K♦ Jâ™  4♣ J♥ closed it out handing $4,676.70 for ninth place to Benjamin134.

Melting in eight place

Shortly after the tenth hour break with the blinds moving up to 100K/200K ante 20K ResumeIgnore making back-to-back Sunday Warm-Up final tables after taking fifth place for $22,141.50 last week would min-raise from UTG as snowking_85 pushed all-in from the small blind for 991,660. Holding 10♦ K♣ made the call and started the flip against snowking_85’s pocket sixes 6â™  6♣ . The flip would end quickly with a king on the flop 5♣ Kâ™  3♦ 8â™  7♥ giving $7,438.70 in eighth place.

Three-way payday

camikater, huulken, and 2465979 decided to gather 7.59 million chips in the middle preflop for overall chip lead. Watch below to see who would walk away with best negotiating grounds for the impending chop talks:

Despite the pocket aces Aâ™  A♥ from huulken, and flip against 2465979’s J♣ A♣ , camikater’s pocket nines 9♣ 9â™  would find a third on the 7â™  10♥ 7♦ 9♦ Q♣ board to claim the huge pot knocking out 2465979 in seventh place ($12,929.70) and huulken in sixth place ($18,431.70).

Viking raided

Viking8844 pillaged enough from the fellow card playing neighbors to make the Sunday Warm-Up final table and be part of the initial chop talks that would netted each of the final five players with no less than $40K (or nearly third place money). However, chop talks broke down and with the blinds at 150K/300K ante 30K Viking8844 would open shove for 2.87 million from the cutoff holding pocket nines 9♠ 9♣ . Folded to Vinson0031 who covered in the small blind with A♠ 10♠ quickly made the call. An ace on the end of the flop J♠ J♦ A♥ 5♣ 8♦ would send Viking8844 back to the Dark Ages with couple more coins in fifth place ($23,933.70).

GAMBOOOOOL!

At this point the players could not come together for a deal as we would play four-handed into the 200K/400K ante 40K level and even with a 10 million chip stack it made for fast play. Our two recent returnees to the Sunday Warm-Up final table, ResumeIgnore and camikater, would duke it out preflop for a 9.6 million chip pot. After calling the shove for camikater, ResumeIgnore turned up pocket jacks J♣ J♦ and bested the A♠ 10♣ held by camikater despite flopping top pair 9♦ 8♦ 10♥ 3♦ 2♠ . Another great result for camikater taking home $31,636.50 in fourth place.

Dealer dealt out

Aussie_star1 tried valiantly to get Vinson0031 and ResumeIgnore to come together for a deal to break apart the remaining prizepool. Unfortunately, despite the Australian’s best efforts, the lowest chip stack did not have much bargaining power to get a deal done in time. With the blinds still at 200K/400K ante 40K and ResumeIgnore recent grab of the chip lead, the chip leader went to work on the short stack by shoving 20.1 million from the small blind. Holding a couple of face cards 10♥ Q♦ Aussie_star1 made the call hoping to weave through ResumeIgnore’s small hearts 7♥ 3♥ . A three in the door 3♦ 4♥ 4â™  2♦ Jâ™  stopped any thoughts of a comeback giving Aussie_star1 $46,216.80 in third place.

Experience pays off

After being at the final table last week, ResumeIgnore was able to use that edge of experience to take down tonight’s Sunday Warm-Up after the hand below:

After grinding down Vinson0031 to 2.89 million chips, most of them coming from a 16.1 million chip hand where Vinson0031 had no response to ResumeIgnore’s 14.8 million chip shove after a flop showed Q♣ 2♦ 10♣ and betting 7.5 million at it. Six hands later ResumeIgnore applied the pressure with a shove from the button as Vinson0031 called off the remaining 2.89 million with A♥ 9â™  . Despite hitting top pair on the flop, Vinson0031 had to watch ResumeIgnore’s 8♥ 10♦ grow into a straight on the 3♣ 7â™  9♥ 6♦ J♣ board to win $86,656.90 and the Sunday Warm-Up title!
