SCOOP champ, Sunday Million champ, MicroMillions champ, and veterans of WCOOP final tables all graced the Sunday Warm-Up final table this evening. A Red Spade nearly joined the party as well as Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso was a river card away from staying in contention but was politely asked to exit after her chip stack struck zero on the final table bubble. But, it was the EPT Deauville Event #12 champ Jon “LUFCBas” Spinks who would take home $115,490.37 tonight in a whirlwind finish that saw the final table go from six players to a champ in under three minutes!

Part-time coach Lex Veldhuis, who worked with UKIPT Main Event tablist PokerStars SportsStar Fatima Moreira de Melo, showed another reason why he is a full-time Team PokerStars pro. The Dutch pro would not match his pupil’s shot at £94,090 in tomorrow’s final table, he managed to bag up $331.02 tonight in 418th place. Team Online’s Marc-Andre “FrenchDawg” Ladouceur also claimed a good chunk of cash placing in 129th ($809.16).

Both Lex and Marc-Andre would have look up at LadyMaverick tonight as she made a play for the final table after doubling up to nearly a million chips during the seventh hour of play with under 60 players left. Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa “LadyMaverick” Rousso’s journey into the ninth hour was a bit of a roller coaster. Not unlike the Six Flags Kingda Ka topping out at 45 stories Rousso would quickly find herself at 1.5 million chips at the start of hour eight, then watched the bottom fall out and plummet to the bottom with less than six BBs at one point. But, with good fortune and finding pocket aces shortly before the break, her stack returned to 2.2 million with blinds at 40K/80K ante 8K as 16 players still holding their ticket to a potential six-figure payday.

Half way through the ninth hour of play Vanessa was hanging on to stay even keel as players such David “Betudontbet” Emmons (14th place, $3,310.20), who took down the Super Tuesday for $92K back in May, would exit the stage.

Then with the blinds at 65K/130K ante 13K the last remaining Team Pro’s ride to the final table would come to a sudden halt. With ten players remaining, Rousso had a double up snatched away at the last moment. Holding 1.4 million in chips, Vanessa would open shove from the button with J♦ K♠ . tollefishy started with 6.6 million and was happy to call with Q♥ A♠ . A jack on the 6♣ J♥ 2♦ looked to breathe new tournament life into Rousso as the 8♦ turn made it even more probable. However, the A♣ river had other ideas shipping the 2.98 million chip pot to tolleyfishy as the last remaining Red Spade left the table in 10th place ($4,413.60).

Back so soon and leaving so quickly?

ado06’s return to the Sunday Warm-Up final table only took one week as last week’s fourth place finish for $37K was not enough. Unfortunately, the cards did not support a positive return for the Swiss. With the blinds at 80K/160K ante 16K and just 11 hands into the final nine, tollefishy would min-raise from the cutoff as ado06 looking down at A♠ 7♦ in the big blind shoved for 1.62 million. The chip leader flipped up pocket eights 8♦ 8♣ and watched the ace-less 6♥ 6♣ 3♦ 5♥ 2♦ board shovel another 3.4 million into tollefishy’s stack. ado06 earned a tad less on the revisit here taking home $5,884.80 in ninth place.

Richie is already rich

Richie Rich may be the richest kid in the world but still would not be allowed to play at a Sunday Major final table. RichieRichZH however was allowed to plunk down $215.00 for a ticket and was still holding chips more than nine hours later. With the blinds still at 80K/160K ante 16K vossiman would open for a min-raise as RichieRichZH shoved for 1.51 million with A♣ Q♥ . SCOOP 2010 Event #25-L champ Jon “LUFCBas” Spinks also shoved for 2.58 million as vossiman go out of the way. vossiman’s fold was likely a positive expectation one as Spinks showed aces A♠ A♥ taking out RichieRichZH’s hand with ease on the 9♥ 9♦ 7♠ K♣ J♥ board. No slouch himself, Michael ‘RichieRichZH’ Friedrich already bagged one of the largest Sunday Million prizepools claiming $1.1 million after taking down the 4th Anniversary Edition of the Sunday Million but tonight would settle for $9,195.00 in eighth place.

Anyo Why does not have the answer

After the two quick bust-outs during the first blind level of the final table play would move smoothly with seven until hitting level 37. With the blinds at 125K/250K ante 25K Anyo Why would open shove from the hijack seat as vossiman, who final tabled the WCOOP 2012 Event #63 earning $76K in fifth place called out of the big blind holding deuces 2♠ 2♣ . Ayno Why showed the mid-ace A♣ 8♠ and the 4♣ Q♦ 6♠ 7♥ 4♦ board showing nothing to match it handing $16,551.00 to Anyo Why in seventh place.

The Team Online member was not the only one who couldn’t keep up, as this writer was trying to make a quick drink and looked over to see the tournament go from six players to heads-up in three hands!
First with the blinds up to 200K/400K ante 40K seymouraces would shove 2.1 million from the button as vossiman called and covered from the small blind holding A♣ 10♥ . Bad news for seymouraces’ A♥ 9♥ and even worse news when the 2♦ 8♣ 6♠ 10♠ K♣ board came up with zero hearts to land seymouraces in sixth place ($23,907.00).

Then on the next hand the tournament’s fate would be revealed. Watch below for the all-in preflop 15.3 million chip pot between KingKobeMVP, LUFCBas, and P0KERDUUDE determine the winner of tonight’s tournament:

If you are gonna crack aces… do it in style as Jon “LUFCBas” Spinks’ jacks J♥ J♠ would crack P0KERDUUDE’s aces A♦ A♣ and shoved KingKobeMVP’s fours 4♥ 4♣ off the court after flopping quads J♣ J♦ 8♠ Q♥ 3♦ send both players home. By starting chip stacks before the hand KingKobeMVP earned $31,263.00 in fifth place while P0KERDUUDE took away $42,297.00 in fourth.

Foot on the gas

Spinks was not going to let anymore breathe including the host or this writer as the next hand he open shoved his dominating 29 million chip stack from the button just daring the other two players to gamble. tollefishy with only 1.4 million chips left take him up on the offer and shoved with K♠ 10♠ . LUFCBas would turn over 6♣ Q♦ and watched nearly all of his outs go away on the A♠ J♥ 3♠ flop. The 8♦ helped tollefishy but the three outer 6♦ hit the river as tollefishy swam away with $60,687.00 in third place starting up a fast ending.

$23K to $115K in under three minutes

Spinks closed this one out like a champ winning the first four hands of heads-up play, giving up the blinds to a shove by vossiman, and then putting it away in under a minute. With the blinds up to 200K/400K ante 40K Spinks would shove from the button with a much better hand this time A♦ 10♦ as vossiman with only four million left made the call holding 2♣ Q♣ . Neither player matched up with the trips kings on the 9♣ K♥ 6♠ K♠ K♣ board as Jon “LUFCBas” Spinks claimed another major tournament win earning $115,490.37 as this week’s Sunday Warm-Up champion!
