Home / Uncategorized / Sunday Warm-Up: Lucky Number SlevinRO claims $105K in victory

The Sunday Majors were taking a back seat to the little guys as the MicroMillions 6 series wrapped up tonight with its $22 Main Event that squished 65,397 treasure seekers into the tournament. But, tonight’s $500,000 guarantee Sunday Warm-up managed to find enough high rollers and satellite winners around to pass the guarantee once again tonight as the $672,200.00 prizepool would break off $105,536.21 for tonight’s champ SlevinRO.

Team Online’s Mickey “mement_mori” Petersen would tackle over 90% of the field tonight and claim $436.93 in 264th place. A little further up the ladder another Red Spade appeared by Andre “acoimbra” Coimbra’s name. The Portuguese Team Online member would finish in 161st place earning $705.81 as the tournament barreled towards the final table.

Thanks to a lovely spot of internet outage during the penultimate table the coverage was blinded for about 15 minutes as the tournament stated there were 17 competitors remaining. Plenty of time to give the router and modem a swift kick for being naughty and get back to reporting but apparently the players were drooling over that $105,536.21 sitting up top and pushed towards the final table with lightning speed.

Once the transfers of data from PokerStars to this laptop resumed there was a big surprise to see the spotlights of the final table shining below:

Fast rush to the final table slowed down

Thanks to the final table starting with lower than usual blinds, we would get through the 40K/80K ante 8K and 50K/100K ante 10K levels without incident. During the 65K/130K ante 13K level there was a twist to the plot. Jakkebest was on the wrong end of a bad beat getting in good with pocket king versus jacks against SlevinRO, but still managed to walk away with 1.3 million chips. However, as the blinds moved up Jakkebest lost a little down to 1.19 million chips and elected to shove from early position holding J♠ A♥ . Folded around to Erosss82 on the button with K♦ Q♣ , the German chip leader decided to make the call. Top two on the K♣ Q♠ 4♦ 3♣ J♣ board would knockout our first player as Jakkebest took away $5,377.60 in ninth place.

Fiat flattened davjon

After the departure of JLDASERRA in eighth place ($8,402.50) the blinds moved up to 80K/160K ante 16K looking to shrink the field even further. FiatEruditio would do the damage and Renseriet would take the scrapes. Five million chip in the middle with FiatEruditio all-in holding pocket queens Q♥ Qâ™  against davjon’s Q♦ K♥ . Despite the flopped straight draw adding some outs 10â™  3♣ Aâ™  4♥ 9♥ FiatEruditio took away the big pot. On the next hear davjon would call off the remaining 177,554 from the big blind holding A♥ 5♥ . Renseriet showed K♥ J♦ and the board calmly placed a king in the middle 3♦ 10♥ K♦ 8â™  7â™  to send $15,124.50 to davjon in seventh place. Color up another big Sunday Major finish for davjon as the UK player also hit the Sunday Million final table back in 2012 for $45K.

Fiat drives over another one

With the blinds moving up to 100K/200K ante 20K FiatEruditio would call the 2.46 million chip small blind shove from Timorm1 in the big blind holding a mid-ace Aâ™  8♥ . Timorm1 however had the kicker advantage flipping up A♦ Q♣ as FiatEruditio type an “8” into the chatbox hoping to coax the dealer into laying one out on the 4â™  K♦ 5♣ flop. “8” again before turn seemed to work as the 8♦ was placed on the board. 10♥ river and Timorm1 received $21,846.50 for the bad beat in sixth place. Yet another Sunday Warm-Up final table for Timorm1 who picked up $28K back in April for a fifth place finish.

Ladies do their work

The action continued to be hot but no one was leaving the table despite multiple all-ins. With the blinds all the way up to 150K/300K ante 30K Renseriet and FiatEruditio would join up for a massive 15.6 million chip preflop pot. Watch below to see who takes the chip lead and who gets $28K in fifth place:

Pocket queens Q♣ Qâ™  for Renseriet would safely avoid any trouble on the 4♣ 2♣ 8♦ 2â™  Q♦ board against FiatEruditio’s A♦ J♣ shipping $28,568.50 to FiatEruditio in fifth place. Nearly a SCOOP Main Event champ in 2011, the Russian claimed a runner-up check for the Medium version earning $335K in the process.

Not exactly like Jason

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier may get a few ribbings for the length of his run good, but we suspect it has a lot more to do with skill. As the blinds held at 150K/300K ante 30K Renseriet went looking for more chips and open shoved for 17.9 million from the button. Holding a mid-ace 8♥ A♣ RunLkMercier tried some luck and made the call from the big blind for 4.16 million. Renseriet looked to tap some run good with 9♠ 10♠ and found it by connecting with the Q♥ K♦ 5♦ 9♦ J♦ board for a straight as RunLkMercier ran well enough to claim $38,651.50 in fourth place.

Erosss’ win is grosss

No extra points for winning ugly as the chip leader Erosss82 tried bullying Renseriet in the big blind. With the blinds moving up to 200K/400K ante 40K Erosss82 would shove for 21.5 million as Renseriet pondered a call from the big blind holding a small ace 4♥ A♦ . The call turned out to be a correct one as Erosss82 showed 8♥ Kâ™  . Thinking Renseriet won the hand after an ace hit the door Aâ™  10â™  3♦ this author looked back and Renseriet’s icon was nowhere to be seen. All of the 600+ people on the rail likely saw the running kings K♦ and K♣ that sent the 10.7 million chip pot to Erosss82 and ended Renseriet’s tournament in third place ($55,456.50).

Runner-runner for and runner-runner against

In the previous elimination Erosss82 knockout Renseriet with running kings. Things changed a bit during the lengthy heads-up match. As the blinds moved up to 250K/500K ante 50K Erosss82 and reeling from losing a 16.1 million chip pot after both players hit top pair but SlevinRO also matched the kicker, Erosss82 needed to recoup quickly. Ground down to three million chips against SlevinRO’s 30 million Erosss82 would push preflop as SlevinRO made the call. Check out below as this time Erosss82 was the one who thought the hand was locked up:

Two pair on the 3♦ Q♦ K♣ flop for Erosss82’s 3♥ K♦ which overcame the dominating A♣ 3♣ held by SlevinRO. But the clubs kept on coming as the 6♣ turn and 7♣ river put away the win for SlevinRO who earned $105,536.21 as this week’s Sunday Warm-Up champion!
