He’s such a force on the European Poker Tour that it’s been a surprise that Luca Pagano, the Team PokerStars Pro, has not done so well on the Italian Poker Tour. That may be about to change.

Pagano is chip leader with 36 left at PokerStars IPT Nova Gorica, and few would now bet against him taking his 508,000 stack all the way to the final table. Each of the surviving players are guaranteed €3,100 for finishing in the money, but that’s peanuts against the €190,000 waiting for the winner.

Bad poker face: Luca Pagano

Sandro Mazzei (478,000) and Antonio Ranaldi (416,000) are the men closest to Pagano as they look forward to playing down to a final table today. The final will be tomorrow (Monday).
