I’ve written it so many times over the past several years, I honestly have run out of any new way to put it: Anders “Donald” Berg doesn’t understand what it’s like to miss a final table. Put him in a mixed game, draw game, game that involves four cards, or just about anything else, and the guy is going to make the final table. Add to that, he has special talent of actually winning the final tables he makes. Witness last night’s big buy-in Spring Championship of Online Poker HORSE event, one final tabled by two members of Team PokerStars Pro and taken down by Team Online’s Berg.

Having been around PokerStars long enough to merit a proper screen name like “Donald,” the man has no small amount of experience in making final tables of big events. He’s been on fire during this year’s SCOOP. After last night, Berg sits on top of the SCOOP Player of the Series leaderboard. You can see the whole story of his heads-up victory over Team PokerStars Pro George Danzer right here: Anders “Donald” Berg Reigns Supreme at High H.O.R.S.E.

Speaking of that Player of the Series race, it’s as tight as can be going into the final day of play. Just a few hours shy of the main event, Berg is on top, but there are still many people who can catch him if they put up a good performance over the next two day of play. Here’s how Berg ranks against the the players within serious striking distance of the top spot. He’ll want to pay especially close attention to -DrawingDad- who is still alive for Day 2 the low buy-in of Event #35 NLHE heads-up event.

  • You might notice Event #35 missing there. That’s because yesterday’s big heads-up championship ran into today. In the $25,000 buy-in, Team PokerStars Pro Betrand “ElkY” Grospellier will play heads-up today for the title after having cashed in the medium buy-in event late yesterday. We’re also keeping tabs on -DrawingDad- who is among the final 64 in the low buy-in tourney.

Fore more news, we have moving pictures, a crack research team, and gratuitous use of sound effects below. Though they had sort of been counting on the word ending last night, the Inside SCOOP Web Show continues. Here’s the latest broadcast featuring Team PokerStars Pro’s Toni Judet and Greg DeBora.

As you get ready for the big main event, here’s a little inspiration in the form of the replay of the $2,100 buy-in of the NLHE EVent #31 featuring SixthSenSe19, Gambit360, ButchTimothy, Eleint, DooshDotCom, bastet2004, Face333X, Chris ‘Moorman1’ Moorman and arxigos.

For the past two weeks, we’ve posted SCOOP’s daily schedule. This is the last time we can do it. If you’re going to enter a SCOOP event, now is the time. Here are the last two events of the 2011 Spring Championship of Online Poker.

    Sunday May 22 SCOOP schedule

  • Event #37: NL Hold’em — 6-Max — 2-Day Event ($22, $215, $2,100)
  • Event #38: NLHE Main Event — 2-Day Event ($109, $1,050, $10,300)
  • Once again, congratulations to Anders Berg, a man who can win just about anything. Stay clear of him in the main event.
