Barcelona is an amazing city, and an EPT event only makes it more interesting. Not only is the casino very crowded, the whole city is very vibrant in this period of the year.
To start my trip, I just had a few drinks at the bars at Olympic Beach. There are lots of nice bars and restaurants over there. Sadly, I was exhausted because of the travelling and went to bed quite early.
The second day, I went to the beach. I love that beach in Barcelona! It’s very close to the casino, so when you’re playing, you can go there during breaks.
In the afternoon, I went to the Hello Kitty store at Las Ramblas and bought a cute little Hello Kitty bracelet. Also the other shops are cool, and I love the atmosphere over there. Spanish people are so positive and nice. I really loved it!
The next day I played the EPT Women’s Event, but unfortunately, that didn’t last long. Luckily, PokerStars never lets its players down and they organized an awesome party at one of the most popular clubs in Barcelona called Opium. The parties are always so exciting, with lots of nice people to meet. I talked with Daniel Negreanu; he’s a really cool guy! There were free drinks and food, and it’s a “must-go-to” event when you’re at an EPT event in this great city.
The next day, my sister and our friends went jet skiing. It was the first time for me, and I was so stressed that I almost peed my pants. After getting used to the speed, I really started to enjoy it. I even saw a dead fish!
PokerStars also arranged a yacht for the EPT players. We could go on it for two hours and see the marvellous skyline of Barcelona. It definitely was a nice experience. We got on it quite late, and we saw the sunset. It was beautiful and relaxing.
I haven’t been to very many EPT events yet, but I can definitely say Barcelona is my favourite place up until now. You definitely get the perfect combination of poker and holiday fun. See you there next year!
