SCOOP 2020 WRAPS UP

It’s all over for another year, folks. The Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) 2020 has come to an end with 2.75 million entries and more than $185 million awarded in prizes throughout the epic series.

Twitch Poker had some incredible highlights this year. Fintan “easywithaces” Hand won a SCOOP title live on stream, Lex Veldhuis and Spraggy ran deep in the $10K Main Event, and Veldhuis broke records to become the no.1 stream on the entire Twitch platform.

And that’s just to name a few.

SCOOP may be over for another year, but a new tournament series is just around the corner. Find out more about Summer Series here.

Expect to see your favourite streamers back in action soon.

FINTAN SHARES HIS STAGE

Ever the gentleman, this week Fintan “easywithaces” Hand shared his channel’s stage and thousands of followers with some of his friends while he took some evenings off post-SCOOP.

You might have recognised them.

Tom “Predator410” Parsons

First there was Tom “Predator410” Parsons, an up-and-coming poker streamer who we first met back at Lex Live 2 in London when he won himself a Platinum Pass (check out our interview with Tom here).

Platinum Pass winner “RichyRob” takes a shot at at LL2

Next up was another Platinum Pass winner, “RichyRob”, who won his through GJReggie and PyeFacePoker’s #DareToStream competition. We featured RichyRob in our Lex Live Meet The Community series.

LEX HAS A SURPRISE FOR MODS

While we all appreciate the (rare) blood, (occasional) sweat and (frequent) tears that Twitch Poker streamers put into their channels, a successful stream isn’t always down to one person.

Poker’s leading streamer Lex Veldhuis showed us this week how much his hard-working moderators “Croaks” and “RuthAnnK” contribute to his success by giving them $1,000 each as a sign of his gratitude.

“[Throughout SCOOP] you guys have been with me every single hour, and I’ve streamed more than 300 hours,” he said.

His announcement also came with a challenge for the mods: $100 to win as many sprints on PokerStars’ Grand Tour as possible.

Watch Lex explain the challenge below.

Evan “PURPLEPILS99” Parkes has been playing high stakes online poker for more than 12 years, amassing $4.4 million in cashes and at one point ranking eighth in the world, according to Pocket Fives.

Parkes’ stream has really been picking up steam of late with his performances in SCOOP 2020 providing some high stakes content.

CROAKS – www.twitch.tv/croaks

We mentioned Croaks earlier in this blog as one of Lex Veldhuis’s moderators, but what you might not know is that Croaks is an aspiring streamer in his own right.

Go give him a follow.

ADAM “Adamyid” OWEN – www.twitch.tv/adamyid

A recognisable name both live and online, successful British pro Adam “Adamyid” Owen announced his arrival to the Twitch streets on Twitter.

Owen is yet to fire up a stream, but with $1.7 million won online and $3.7 million won live, when he does you’re guaranteed to learn something by watching a player of his calibre.
