Four days of the Turbo Series schedule have bitten the dust. Here’s the full rundown of results, KO and ROI info, and the major stories from Day 4.
“Still here and still winning” — still
Back in 2014 our own Stephen Bartley had the chance to speak with Sami “Lrslzk” Kelopuro. The occasion was the Finn’s WCOOP victory, his first after previously winning two SCOOP events. In a piece titled “Still here and still winning,” Bartley asked if there was any prestige involved with winning a WCOOP title and Kelopuro showed humility in his reply.
Sami “Lrslzk” Kelopuro at EPT Tallinn back in 2011
“It’s not such a big deal to win one of them, there is so many people with a single title like that,” Kelopuro said at the time. “But if I win for example a TCOOP on top of my WCOOP and SCOOP wins it’ll start to have a bigger meaning. And overall, when the amounts of the victories compete amongst the top tournament players, the titles are worth something.”
TCOOP doesn’t exist anymore, but yesterday Kelopuro won more than $106,000 in TCOOP’s successor, the Turbo Series. The win came against some of the best players in the game in Event #24, a $1,050 Progressive KO tournament.
Other notable performances
Two-time WCOOP champ Patrick “prepstyle71” Serda continued to add to his reputation with his first Turbo Series title on Day 4. His $19,680 victory came in Event #22, a $530 8-Game tournament.

Meanwhile, two different Day 4 tournaments ended in three-way chops.
georgepant of Greece, ZOUZOUNI1998 of the F.Y.R.O.M., and Michael91187 of Switzerland took $22K each in Event #23, a $22 NLHE freezeout. georgepant won the title and the extra $3K left on the table.
Brazil’s xtha earned the title and extra $2K on the table in Event #27, a $55 NLHE tournament. That was good for a total win of $14K. Fellow Brazilian guga18735 (3rd, $12K) and Russia’s Sledyyshii (2nd, $11K) took the other two shares of the deal.
Finishing two spots behind the dealmakers in Event #27 was Brian “brianm15” England of Costa Rica, a past SCOOP and WCOOP champ with $5.8 million in lifetime earnings in PokerStars tournaments. It was England’s second final table appearance of the day. He also finished third in Event #24 — two spots behind today’s headliner, Sami Kelopuro.

KO count
ChristianBR4 didn’t play the first 20 events of this Turbo Series, but the Brazilian made Event #21 count in a major way. In addition to taking down the title and nearly $22,000, more than a third of ChristianBR4’s final prize in the $55 Progressive KO event came from bounties. In all, 21 players left the tournament at ChristianBR4’s hand. That’s good for a spot among the Turbo Series KO leaders after four days of play.
Day 4 was a good one for Brazilians
The new leader on the KO board is also from Brazil. vitaoMTD knocked out enough players yesterday to slip just ahead of previous leaders FrCnnctn1960 and Vlad “dariepoker” Darie.

Turbo Series ROI-alty
Event #21 generated a new entry in the ROI leaderboard as well. AnaLinD of Sweden, who finished in second place for $10,435.26 behind champion ChristianBR4, won a $1.85 satellite to gain entry into the tournament.
Another new name on this list is NDnt. Though the Canadian’s sixth-place finish in Event #22 was only worth $1,760.58, that represented a massive return on an intitial satellite investment of just 54 cents.
So far, five players whose entry was earned via satellite have gone on to win a Turbo Series event: Savva707, Golaith13, AnderMolino, kefffff, and r-w patriot.
