Celebrate Lunar New Year with GJ Reggie’s poker festival

This week PokerStars streamer Georgina “GJReggie” James announced ‘GJ’s Lunar New Year poker festival’, which will run from February 1 to February 6.

It’s a micro-stakes series with 12 low buy-in tournaments, so everyone can get involved. There’s also a great mix of games and formats and $50K guaranteed in prizes.

Don’t miss the $11 NLHE Main Event with a $20K guarantee (Feb 6) and don’t forget that PokerStars will be running chest drops containing tickets for GJ’s Lunar New Year, giving players the opportunity to play in the series for free. The chest drops will be running from January 31.

True Geordie’s The Showdown returns

Season 2 of True Geordie’s Twitch poker show The Showdown kicked off last night, on the man’s birthday no less.

After Brian Davis (a.k.a. True Geordie) blew out his candles, some poker was played and the laughs were had. You can check out the first episode of Season 2 below.

We sat down for a chat with Davis earlier this week and it was certainly an interesting one.

“Poker is great for your mind and helps you apply those skills across other things you do,” Davis told us. “I think poker should be given more respect as a tool for sharpening the mind and as something that brings people together. That’s why all the True Geordie lads like making The Showdown the most of all my live shows.”
