August 20, 2021inPoker

It’s time for the greatest annual online poker competition on the calendar.

WCOOP 2021 begins this Sunday (22 August), and this year there’s $100 million in guaranteed prizes up for grabs.

You’ll find six events on the schedule on the opening day of the festival – which makes 18 tourneys across three tiers – with a rather epic $8.6M Gtd in combined prizes.

Here’s a break down of the schedule for the first day of WCOOP 2021:

Three tourneys each with $1M+ Gtd

All three tiers of Event #4 will each payout at least $1M. The line-up includes a half price Sunday Million and two high stakes events. If you’re looking for the biggest guarantees, here they are:

#4-L: $55 Sunday Million, $1M gtd
#4-M: $530 NLHE, $1.5M gtd
#4-H: $5,200 High Roller, $1M gtd

PKOs stand out for prizes

Fans of the PKO format will be delighted by the options on the opening day. As far as prize pools go, they stand out as huge events, second only to the ones already mentioned above. The PKO events on offer are:

Buy-ins: $22, $215, $2,100
Guarantee: $275,000, $700,000, $700,000

#7: Sunday Cooldown, PKO Turbo (8-max)
Buy-ins: $5.50, $55, $530
Guarantee: $50,000, $300,000, $400,000

Best for low stakes players

All WCOOP 2021 events on the schedule have a low tier. Of those on the schedule on the first day, three tourneys in particular offer the lowest buy-ins:

#2-L: $5.50 WCOOP Kickoff, $75,000 gtd
#6-L: $11 NLHE, $125,000 gtd
#7-L: $5.50 PKO Turbo, $50,000 gtd

Omaha for the masses

Event #5 is the perfect opportunity to try out a different format of poker, or if you’re already an experienced Omaha player to sit down at the game you love best. All three tiers offer huge prizes:

#5 PLO (6-max)
Buy-ins: $22, $215, $2,100
Guarantees: $100,000, $175,000, $275,000
