Here’s where you’ll find the latest highlights and PokerStars results, including the Sunday Majors and High Roller Club. This week:
- 99Palanke wins PKO Sunday Million
- Renan “Internett93o” Bruschi wins Sunday HR
- kylix42 and Ivan Luca win HRC events
- Sunday Storm 11th Anniversary pays $33k to first
The $109 Sunday Million took on a PKO format and with 9,417 entries had a prize pool of $1 million.
Spraggy had a decent run before crashing out in 355th place and netting a few hundred dollars. “szyszo98” held chip lead at the end of Day 1, crashing out in 13th place for a few grand.
As play progressed during Day 2, it looked like “BIGBADBRAD58” was the likely candidate to take down the tourney. The Canadian player took a huge chip lead with 18 players left. Several other players also accumulated significant stacks, including “Brauni22”, “kelsen.lab” and “99Palanke”.
In a game changing hand, BIGBADBRAD and 99Palanke clashed, both clutching trip Aces on the river and sitting on big stacks. BIGBADBRAD found themselves outkicked and forced to put most of their chips in the middle. Once the chip leader and favorite to win, BIGBADBRAD was all but defeated, and eventually bubbled the final table in 10th.
With nine players remaining, 99Palanke took the chip lead, followed by “racketler” in second and Brauni22 in third place.
Prolific Austrian pro Stefan “mindgamer” Jedlicka, one of the short stacks at the table but also one of the standout players in terms of talent, managed to gain some traction before eventually running his Kings into kelsen.lab’s Aces and crashing in ninth place.
Meanwhile, as more player busted, “ridesickjo” kept on laddering up. The Swiss player gained attention on the PokerStars Stream for their tiny bounty, taking only $65 in KOs. They won’t have been too disappointed with fifth place and $15k.
Following the elimination of Austrian “Odilop’TT” in fourth place, the remaining three players opted to make a deal for the prize money. Of course, this being a bounty tournament, the final bounties were still up for grabs.
kelsen.lab, who for a long time had held the most valuable bounty, was eliminated in third place – but did manage to walk away with more winnings than second place Brauni22.
99Palanke of Brazil won the PKO Sunday Million for a total of $73,537.
In the High Roller Club, three players made a deal in the $1,050 Sunday Warm-Up to even out the prize money. “kylix42” of Brazil won the tournament for $10,336. Despite finishing second, “Carster” from Canada earned slightly more, walking away with $10,729.
Renan “Internet93o” Bruschi took down the PKO edition Sunday HR. After earning over $22k in bounties, the Brazilian pro’s total winnings for the event stood at $35,092. Carster came second for a total of $15,553. That’s two second place finishes for the Canadian.
Ivan “Negriin” Luca of Argentina won the $1,050 Sunday Supersonic, earning $16,740 in just a couple of short hours of poker.
kylix42 and Ivan Luca also both made the final table of the $5k Titans, kylix42 finishing in ninth and Ivan Luca earning $40k for fifth. “zerodeda” of Finland claimed first place for $115,217.
Also a two-day event, “Alex Shepel”, playing out of Armenia, took down the $530 Bounty Builder HR, bagging over $30k in bounties along with prize money for a total of $65,446.
The highlight event this weekend was the Sunday Storm 11th Anniversary. The event reached a total of 87,376 entries and had a prize pool of $1 million. At the end of Day 1, 389 players remained. “Jack4parow” of Brazil came second for a total of $24,633. “Sanders063” of Ukraine came first and walked away with $33,412. Not bad for an $11 tournament!
Elsewhere in the Sunday Majors, “Pigaoo” of Brazil won the $109 Sunday Warm-Up for $20,121, “J.Creutz” from Sweden took down the Sunday Supersonic for $16,243, and “TempoAntigo” of Malta topped the Cooldown for a total of $23,578.
