One thing we know for sure about Prague is that it’s snowing like crazy outside right now. If it continues at this rate, we’re going to have to add a lot more tournaments to extend the schedule.
But what we don’t know right now is who will be crowned the PokerStars Championship Prague GPI Leaderboard winner. At every Championship event, the overall best performing player wins entry into a big freeroll that will take place during the PCA 2018 in January.
We’ve seen some serial cashers and late surgers during this trip, so let’s take a look at how the leaderboard stands with one day to go:
Position | Player | Points |
---|---|---|
1 | Adrian Mateos | 546.31 |
2 | Saar Wilf | 531.51 |
3 | Ioannis Angelou-Konstas | 513.77 |
4 | Timothy Adams | 486.60 |
5 | Igor Kurganov | 475.18 |
6 | Alexandro Tricarico | 472.51 |
7 | Marco Regonaschi | 463.56 |
8 | Conor Beresford | 438.20 |
9 | Simon Mattsson | 436.69 |
10 | Albert Daher | 436.33 |
It’s not surprise to see Adrian Mateos currently at the top spot. The Spanish wunderkind finished third in the €50K Super High Roller for €244,900, and then a few days later finished fourth in a €25K Single Day High Roller for €134,800. With another small cash in a €2K side event, that gives Mateos the most.
However, he is out of the €10K High Roller which is running right now, meaning he’ll have a tough time adding to his amount. Saar Wilf, however, is still in currently and sits second on the leaderboard. His total Prague earnings (roughly €30K) pale in comparison to Mateos’, but he has notched up four cashes including a side event final table. Another deep run here could see him overtake Mateos at the top spot.
Conor Beresford is the only one of those top 10 players still in with a shot in the €10K. However, he’s short right now.
There are still chances for someone else to score big points, what with the €2,200 Deepstack which started today, plus two 6-max turbos and a hyper-turbo tomorrow. Check the schedule here.
Can anyone catch Mateos?
